View From The East: Improve Or Else

After another defeat at the weekend, The Swans have now slumped to their 12th loss of the season, and to everyone in the world of Swansea City, this is not acceptable. What has happened since we got relegated from the 2nd Divison.

I'll tell you what has happened we have sold key players, 2 of those are Julian Alsop although not being a prolific goalscorer, he worked his socks off every game, setting up goals, holding up and nodding on the ball, and now and again Julian would get the Vetch field off their seats with a goal or two. Another off the players sold was Stuart Roberts, this hasn't benefit Swansea because The Swans have lost their wide man who could put deadly crosses into the box, causing the oppositions defence to panic.

"We are nearly half way through the season so we can asses things and know exactly what we have to do and need to improve", said Flynn. Swansea having a dreadful half season, having been unable to win away from home this season, and only winning few games at home. In my opinion we are jinxed against all teams who go down to 10 men at The Vetch, because when the player leaves the field, relief seems to appear in the faces of the fans, and then the boys don't perform on the pitch, why I don't know! Having played against two teams at The Vetch who have lost a player in the 1st half we have picked up a dreadful 1pt instead of the 6pts, which we should've.

"We are going to have to have a better second half season than the first", said Swans Director of Football, that is pretty obvious because if the second half goes as bad as the Swans play second halfs on the pitch, we are already down! What is the problem, is it stamina, fitness, ablilty? It must be all three because every player plays well for 45 then sleeps for the rest, what does Flynn say to the lads af half time? What ever he says it isn't working.

Now to conclude my column, a look ahead at Thursdays game in The Vetch against fellow strugglers Bristol Rovers, a well needed 3pts for both sides, according to Flynn, it will be hell of a game, hopefully it will be so we can have some excitement, and our moneys worth. Good luck to the lads on the second half of the season, and as Flynn has said it will be without a doubt a yo-yo situation for us this season with teams going up and down from the relegation zone.
