Time To Back Saints Monday, 7th Mar 2011 16:59
The business end of the season is looming.
This isnt a debate about attendances nor a sly did at Saints supporters for not going to St Mary's, its merely a rallying call to encourage Saints supporters to give their team a helping hand in the important final weeks of the season.
With seven home games to go including this weeks game against Yeovil, it has to be fortress St Mary's and it needs everyone to try and get down there if they can and create that wall of sound.
Of course our attendances have been excellent this season and are the best in the division, but we know from the fact that last season we had several full houses and that so far this season we havent, that we have the potential to fill every seat in the house.
Many fine words were spoken about "helping Markus fulfill his dream" last August, sadly Markus cant be at St Mary's but we Saints supporters can be, we now need to forget about off the field politics and see the team over the line in the final weeks.
Please take this for exactly what it is, a gentle nudge, over the coming weeks attendances will rise, the sooner the better .

Too true Nick - I'll be there for the remainder of the home matches - Oh, and next seasons matches also. Lets get the "Red/White" chant going - that was awesome a few matches ago!

Having been at Colchester, i have to say our vocal support was woeful. Can't fathom out why, we had plenty there but it was so flat. I normally defend our fans as we're better than most but for some reason we wern't "up for it" on saturday-so time to support the lads from start to finish. COYS

Looking forward to tonight. Let's be ruthless and hope to make up some more ground before Saturday's crunch game.

"we now need to forget about off the field politics " YOU...not we. You really are a patronising twonk

If you think that players arent affected by off field politics and that those off field politics arent still ongoing then you really are a naive twonk

Your artcle refers to the supporters not the players. If the players have problems you issuing a rallying cry isn't going to change much is it or do you really have that high an opinion of yourself that you think you can change things. The only one naive is you. The man who fully supported the return of Rupert Lowe should maybe keep his trap shut.....pillocks like you are why we are now a L1 club

I dont have any opinion of myself other than of the way i conduct myself as a person, I dont think anything I do is going to change much, but it it helps then thats fine Foe the record i didnt fully support the return of Rupert lowe I merely faced facts about our options. Your right it is down to pillocks like me that we are a league 1 club as opposed to pillocks like you where we would have been out of business in October 2008 touche

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Macclesfield Town Polls |
