Stevie T on GMR today. 19:32 - Aug 10 with 3809 views | SteTsGoldenBoot | It was really good to hear,Steve Taylor, who was probably my first Dale hero on the radio today. Really glad that he's back in football and coaching youngsters (even though its with the BIFFO's) after he seemed to have dropped off the face of the earth. He spoke very highly of his time at Dale and of Ronnie Moore who older Daley's will remember partnered him when he got his golden boot. I can still remember him equalising at Scunny late on (rebound after his penalty was saved I think), listening to the FA Cup draw on the coach on the way home and the joy of getting Man U. Spotland seemed packed for the replay although I think the official crowd was 5400 ish, oh and Ronnie Moore's winner! Great times, even during an otherwise baron era.

I used to sit on top of the Breeze blocks in the Sandy Lane end going on for 25 years ago when I was a nipper. Remember him scoring a late penalty against Watford in a cup game I think. Just a great no fuss striker with a scruffy haircut. Lucky to have seen him play.

Oh happy days indeed. My early days were spent in the Sandy lane up until the WMG being built. The Watford game another classic and 5000+ crowd I think.

He spoke very well and did well not to fall into the station's doom and gloom around Freedman - something that was there last season before they went on that good run after Dawson's arrival.
