Harry Redknapp wants Richard Dunne to lead them back to the premier league.

REALLY?!?! Hmmm not too keen on this one tbh, been out injured all season and has never been THAT great anyways. Also gettin on abit now aswell. No thanks. Keep Samba and Onouha together and thats better than any championship CB pairing already.

If Harry asks for money for Richard Dunne he should be let go immediately. He's either on his bum, picking the ball out of his own net that he just put there or in the pub.

No thanks.

Think he'd do a job to be honest. He's a worker.

Similar "no thanks" ploys when Derry was announced.

There's always one or two players who have a renaissance in their final couple of seasons....just look back to the 76 squad or Cloughs Derby kings of Europe

The Championship or bit part Prem player now Dunnes level as a player and if used right could be good
I'd be more interested on off field issues such as wage demands, lifestyle, attitude and guidance of younger players. If those fit then I'd go for him as he could add experience and guidance plus kick the bleeding life out of shirkers with bad attitudes....and we've enough of those

Has he retired from International duty?

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

If we sign dunne then we have learnt nothing over the last two years.

33 years old. Currently paid over £30K a week. Hasn't played a competitive game for Villa for over a year because of injury.

Yep. Certainly sounds like our type of player.

Never knowingly understood

This is not good.

If true.

It is his recent injury record and wage that concerns me most with this rumour. May as well get Gorkss back.

On a free possibly at the lower end of the wage scale. He will be worth nothing at the end of next season and would need a very thorough medical to ensure he is available to play when and if he's needed.

I just hope we are not again focusing our efforts at this end of the players age group. This smacks of another player being offered by an agent looking to make money out of a deal rather than the club and its management getting off its backside and searching for the good young talent that is out there.

Who's Next?

There's nothing wrong with the idea! It might be the player that's wrong, but Richard Dunne has the temprement that QPR needs.

Our best player's this year Ryan Nelsen, and Anton Townsend, both limited but their levels of self-respect and honesty raised them far above the standards set by their teamates.

Players can be injured for a year, and Lambert wanted to blood the kids.

Richard Dunne the new Frank McLintock? Maybe?

Similar things said about Nelsen . Turned out game for game player of the year

Don't disagree but I think there is a bit of a myth forming with Nelsen and just how good he wass.

He wasn't great, he wasn't even very good. However he looked like a world beater next to Anton/M'bia/Boswanker/Traore and Hill.

Hmm, i'd have some strong reservations about his fitness and his penchant for scoring own goals - but he always struck me as a hardworking, solid, honest centre back.

On a low basic wage (bolstered by appearance fees) or short term contract might not be the worst signing.

Give him a 2 year contract on 25k a week and i'm going to bang my head against a wall for the next 3 months...

If the last three seasons has taught us anything....don't judge a player till he's played for us: Mackie signing underwhelmed ended up being a star, Bosingwa and Park jizz all over the laptop screen couldn't see the dam forum yet turned out to be turd.

We wouldn't have much to talk about if we waited until players signed though.

Mackie has been largely good, but hardly a star.

Not many were that excited about Bosingwa to be fair.
