"Steve stood out as the correct candidate not only because of his enthusiasm for developing young footballers and his work rate, but also because of his extensive football knowledge and reputation as one of the best coaches around.
Now where have we heard that before ? Isn't that a verbatim quote from Chris Dunphy ?
“It is easier to fool people, than to convince them that they have been fooledâ€

Good luck to him, and a good job too. Was interested to see whether hee would go back to youth (a job I'm sure he can do well) or if he would continue to try to be a manager, perhaps at a lower level. This job may suggest that he knew he was out of his depth as a manager.

I appreciate the City stuff is more relevant to his role than his time at Dale, but his time as a manager of a League One side is almost completely glossed over in that article in favour to all the stuff that we heard about from City that completely exaggerated his role. In fairness to Eyre, taking this role shows that he knows what his level is.
I did smile at the line about how his CV reads brilliantly.

So just how many Youth Team Managers do City have at any one time..???
get down to Citys Academy and you see SE on every pic from U11s to reserves. If someone wants to just show one pic then thats up to them and there waste of time. He chose to work extra nights and Sundays coz he loves the game.He didnt need to. Ask Andrew Tutte about Steves influence on Man City and on his life. Your club is gonna be like Reading and Watford were for for Brendan Rodgers before he found right board to let his obvious potential flourish. He turned four jobs down for Huddersfield big gain for them. Good Luck Steve and Good luck Dale tommorow.

Again, simple question, how do you know so much?
And it makes us feel so much better that Eyre might use his bloody awful time as Dale to learn and be better elsewhere.
