Saints Players Nicknames 21:26 - Jan 15 with 2970 views | SaintNick | We currently have the Wee man, but there seems to be a lack of nicknames these days, can anyone remember ones from the past. I remember Terry Paine was called Elvis and David Walker Docker and the late 60's early 70's team had a few, so anyone remember any others throughout the ages

Saints Players Nicknames on 12:54 - Jan 16 with 2629 views | InTimeAddedOn | Fitz Hall - One size Because…. One size Fitz Hall 😀 Back in the day the regulars around us used to call Steve Moran Nipper for quite a while after he became an established part of the team. They also had about 3 different nicknames for David Speedie but none of them are even remotely printable! [Post edited 16 Jan 13:02]

One Size was my favourite Saints nickname A mate who went to see Tis, Beats and Claus at the Concorde last week, said they called Claus 'Dave' ala Fools and Horses. Apparently Jack Stephens is known by his team mates as Stevo. My daughter was convinced they would call him Captain Jack (Sparrow) !! As we seem to have had a history of players with double barrelled surnames, perhaps everyone should be known as their initials instead of their Surnames or Nicknames: FPM AOC MLT JWP KWP ABK DCC AMN THB SAA ....and 1 for Pat: RFM !! :-)

One Size is my favourite too Credit to you for remembering Forbes Phillipson-Masters for the double barrelled surname players. Going back to One Size, another nickname that also makes me smile, albeit not a Saints player, is ex-England rugby union player Billy Twelvetrees who acquired the nickname 36 as in a broad Irish accent, twelve trees are thirty six 😀

I agree, One Size was the best.

Saints Players Nicknames on 20:38 - Jan 16 with 2502 views | LondonSaint76 | Also agreed, One Size was an absolute classic. There was also Neil 'Razor' Ruddock John Burridge was known as Budgie. On Shearer's hat trick scoring debut, that 4-2 win over Arsenal, with not a lot happening in front of him, from around the halfway line Kevin Bond turned without really looking and lumped the ball back to Burridge in the Saints goal at the Milton Road End. Had he looked properly, he would have seen Burridge otherwise engaged in the back of the net changing his gloves. The ball sailed goalwards and landed in the back of the net next to Burridge. Headline in one of the Sunday papers the following day accompanied by a picture of the exasperated looking Burridge sat in the back of the net with the ball next to him, arms aloft in disbelief, was 'Budgie off his perch'

The spell checker on my old desktop PC would auto correct Kyle Walker Peters to Kylie walked Peter but only if you didn’t use a hyphen in his surname. Gave me visions of The Minogue walking down the street with Peter Andre on all fours wearing a dog collar and lead 😀 I must eat less strong cheese before bedtime…. [Post edited 17 Jan 13:17]
