Match Thread: Boreham Wood vs Dale on 21:57 - Sep 19 with 5592 views | daleitetilidie | Got away with one there. Completely lost our way second half. Apart from SAJ missing a sitter we didn’t threat their goal. Nevett starred in defence again for me. Jez ineffectual and Mitchell usual no show. Midfielder’s we’re quiet which didn’t help second half. Could have been a couple up by halftime saying that so a point away is a good result if not a good performance. In need of another decent striker option up front. Don’t suppose Rodders is anywhere near getting fit to be in the squad? See what Dorking have to offer Saturday. I’ll put up with another point down there. As long as it’s a better performance than the second half tonight. UTD!

Match Thread: Boreham Wood vs Dale on 23:12 - Sep 19 with 5271 views | Sandyman | Dominated for long periods but couldn't translate it into goals. Letting them get a goal back so soon (as with Barnet last Saturday) was poor. Clung on at the end as BW looked more likely to score. Will take a point. Great turn out by fans in Ratcliffes. An initiative worth considering again. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Match Thread: Boreham Wood vs Dale on 23:20 - Sep 19 with 5237 views | _Windydale | Boreham-Wood will consider it 2 points lost after they dominated large periods of the 2nd half. Pleased with the point though, there will be lessons we can learn from this tough fixture against an ok side. Long journey and arrived at the game an hour before kick off.

I thought that too, he was really good! As for us, we dominated the game until we scored, then it all went wrong and we were absolutely awful, they scored a carbon copy of the Barnet goal at weekend but in an even quicker time. We need to move on from that 2nd half performance and make sure we're ready to go Saturday.

Happily! The whole occasion was quite unusual, I got there at about 7:30 and there was nobody walking to the ground, and completely silent in the home end as we went onto the terrace. Don’t know if it’s been mentioned but Ethan Brierley and Liam Kelly were there which was lovely to see. In terms of the game, everyone has been quite right, had all the ball first half, got a lucky goal but then we’ve got to be tighter immediately after scoring. Still, after that we were quite lucky to not lose, so got to take a point at a pretty tough place to go. Lovely touch from Jim as well at full time, he came right over and personally thanked us for coming, which was a lovely gesture and something he really didn’t need to do, but massively appreciated. Onto Dorking on Saturday, hopefully 3 points incoming!
Match Thread: Boreham Wood vs Dale on 07:59 - Sep 20 with 4749 views | Newbury_Dale | The players were clearly tired after Saturday and playing into a strong wind second half didn't help. I think they showed the sort of character not associated with this club in recent history. A decent point all things considered, although Boreham lacked quality, despite being a big, strong outfit. I expect changes at weekend to freshen up the team. After a generation of blowing up for everything, do referees recognise what a foul looks like anymore? Under these new directives, I am starting to wonder. Mitchell got some rough treatment, unpunished. It was good to see Ethan Brierley and Liam Kelly supporting the team in matching tracksuits.
Match Thread: Boreham Wood vs Dale on 10:20 - Sep 20 with 4480 views | dawlishdale | Was intending going to the club to watch, but got delayed so had to watch on National League TV from home. Looked like we were well on top for the first half (missed first 5 minutes or so) and passed it through them with ease. Sinclair looked a real handful and possibly could have scored with one or two good efforts just over the bar. After half time, we scored very quickly, and from that point on, we became a bit nervous and they grew in confidence. Shame that they scored so quickly after we had taken the lead. Not good letting them get a cross in so easily, and an unchallenged but well placed header. After that, I felt that they could and perhaps should have won it, and there were some nervous scrambles in our box. Best chance of the night fell to Keohane who really should be scoring from there instead of blazing over the bar when he had the ball under control. Big miss. Other than that we did very little attacking in the second half, and seemed to resort to sitting deep which invited them on to us and caused a few issues. Must pay tribute to the fans who travelled in decent numbers and backed the team so well. Magnificent effort.
Match Thread: Boreham Wood vs Dale on 11:28 - Sep 20 with 4336 views | jonahwhereru | Got there early and parked about 200 yards from the away turnstiles. Went and had a look at the standing and seating to pick me spot. The stewards were nice and friendly and helpful re places to eat up the road. Wow BW must be the widest professional team I have ever seen. The keeper is trying to build a Conrad Logan physique. Most of the other were like wannabe Akinfenwa’s. We looked good for the most part in the first half lots of composure and a willingness to mix it up. We were deserving the lead when it came. But the way we switched of immediately after the goal was sinful. The team physically wilted against the muscle and power of the opposition as the half progressed. Although I have to mention that Nevett was stronger than most. For one so young against this type of opposition that bodes very well for him and the club. There were some tired bodies by the end of the night. So my expectations for Saturday have been downgraded. UTD Can’t be unhappy with that outcome against the type of side many thought would roll us over before the season started. [Post edited 20 Sep 2023 13:53]

Match Thread: Boreham Wood vs Dale on 18:42 - Sep 20 with 3958 views | 49thseason | Nevett is a class act, a natural left footed defender with a huge range of passes, height and strength time on the ball and unflappable, a Martin Buchan in the making. There will be clubs queuing up to buy him...lets not sell him cheaply...

Given the obvious recent upgrade to the stands I assume they most have some monied beneficiary, if they are surviving on those gates.

I think they have some connection with Arsenal because the reason the match was brought forward was because Arsenal u21 (I think) were playing in a European game there the following day. And if I'm not mistaken Arsenal women also play their home matches at the ground. So I'm sure they make a reasonable income from their premiership neighbours.
