NFR NFL play offs 11:29 - Jan 10 with 13035 views | pioneer | Some interesting play off games… will the bengals end their play off drought (31 years without a post season victory)? will Big Ben pull off one huge shock in his swansong for the steelers will the bills overcome the Pats 59 years after the only previous play off match up in the frozen tundra of orchard park (off course they will! Lets Go Buffalo) One big weekend coming up.

NFR NFL play offs on 13:04 - Jan 24 by isitme | The bizarre thing is that after the Chiefs were on the receiving end of the overtime rules against the Pats in the AFC title game they raised it at the owners meeting at the beginning of the next season to get it changed, but nobody else supported them and their proposal was dropped. It is a horrible way to lose a game. |
Classy move by Chiefs fans….donating $13 to a fund for childrens hospital in Buffalo to mark the 13 seconds that changed their season. So far over $300k raised. It doesnt make the pain of losing any less but classy move. Now come on you Bengals!
NFR NFL play offs on 11:38 - Jan 28 with 3311 views | watford_dale | This weekend gong for: 49ers, if they can get their running game going, keep Jimmy G from having to think he needs to throw the football and add to the INT stats of the opposition. If they can control the ball combined with their greater squad depth and size then they are in with a good chance. Shoot out - no, street fight - yes. Bengals/Chiefs - should hopefully be a shoot-out and the receiving corps are fairly matched and both QB's are non too shabby as well. Bengals J'Marr Chase looks unplayable but the Chiefs have the experience and been there for the last 3 seasons but fancy the Bengals to edge it.

This was where I first saw the background to the story as well as current $13. Extremely classy. https://eu.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/chiefs/2022/01/26/chiefs-fans-donate-th This footage of Kelce is so insightful about plays being called and the value of him to his team. An on-field coach in all but name. I did think, watching that, how wonderful t'internet is. When we first started watching the match-ups between Kelly and Marino we were lucky if we got the score on the same day as the game. I used to get Dolphins Digest, a weekly magazine update by post from Florida. Now you can see this kind of insight within hours of the final whistle. A lot of things aren't as good as they used to be in life generally (including the NFL rules favouring offence) but a lot are light years ahead.

Whodey? Have to say that was a wonderful win for them. Chiefs aiming to be the fourth team to make the Superbowl 3 years on the bounce - the other 3 the Bills, Pats and Fins from the AFC East. This stat is astounding and the ultimate "game of two halves" Happy to see the niners eliminated too - Fins traded 1st round draft pick from them now no worse than 29 and if we are seriously after McDaniel as HC we can make it happen, although Harbaugh now rumoured to be leaving Michigan, so the waters muddied again.

I think that Flores is extremely brave in something that needed to be said but comparisons made to Kaepernick and his stance. Upshot is that I doubt Flores will be employed within the NFL again. Maybe he should have held on to that to use at a later date. NFR NFL play offs on 12:25 - Feb 14 with 2739 views | DaleiLama | Not having a team in the final I bottled the matchsticks under the eye-lids option and watched the highlights package this morning. Never as good as the actual time left in the highlights can give away the outcome, but was pleasantly surprised it didn't. A fitting end to an unpredictable season and a good game. Disappointed with the officiating (again) as I've been for most of the season - it really has been grim and inconsistent throughout. The NFL really does need a progressive new Commish, but the owners won't vote their puppet out. Anyway, rant over, a most enjoyable watch. Spoiler alert - don't read on if you are planning to watch highlights later. Loved the Kupp MVP. I honestly thought he had concussion - he took such a beating on that last drive and the helmet to helmet hit followed by the head bouncing on the ground TD must have rung his bell big style and he seemed dazed afterwards, but hearing him interviewed for the first time, I realised what a quiet unassuming man he is in a sport packed with super-sized personalities. Great to see the underdog come good.

An absolutely disgrace and a desperate move by the Browns. As a supporter of them for over 40 years I will be supporting the opposition until Berry and Watson have left the organization. Clearly Watson will "buy" a not guilty verdict in the civil case but he is a sex offender. Even the fact that he only gets $1m in year 1 shows that both he and the Browns know he will be suspended so it will be about $240m over 4 years, all guaranteed. Any team DSW turns up at then turn into legitimate SB contenders, I think they had him visit last week to gauge the reaction of the fans but they are miles better with him than without - as any team would be. Miami will probably be watching him still playing in January from their sofa's with their morals intact but with their superbowl chances in shreds. He was always going to be traded once the criminal charges, all 22 of them, were dropped and the grand jury indictment went away. Libel laws don't carry the same weight as criminal in the States given the litigious nature of their society. What if he wins 3 SB's in a row, how would you feel then? In other news the AFC West is spending it like they stole it. If they were a college football division they would have their own TV network deal by now.

Exactly the same as Mark. It's a no from me. I've followed the Fins since '84 and know from bitter experience that a good QB isn't the be all and end all and may not take your team over the top. I've also had plenty of experience of not winning, following the Dolphins and Dale. When the good times come, they are all the sweeter for it, but a win with DW at the helm would be a hollow, pyrrhic victory.

Tyreek Hill traded to Dolphins, 4 yr $120m with £72.2m guaranteed. Great signing. Miami gives up draft capital of 2022 1st, 2nd, 4th round picks and 2023 4th and 6th round picks. The contract is now the highest AAV contract of any wide receiver eclipsing Adams who had that honour for the past few days. Looks like KC were not ponying up for the fella and it was GB or Miami - hmmm tough one that one plus Florida has no state income tax.

Indeed WD - the draft capital we gave up is more than worth a top-10 NFL player (our pick was #29 in the 1st) - he has most YACs since 2016 of any player and hot on the heels of the Terron Armstead acquisition from NO, we might just give the Bills a run for their money this year after being annihilated by them the last 3 seasons. The fins now have the three fastest men (clocked in-game) in the NFL. That's not track speed, either, they are football players in pads which gives me some heart. As with (almost) all NFL contracts, there's a trapdoor built in to make cutting him or renegotiating a deal possible. The Jets were the other suitor and they offered the same draft capital as us, so it was up to the player who he chose based on city/individual terms (he lives in S. Fla and as you say, no state tax!) KC were class throughout and made the process easier and have benefitted to the tune of the equivalent of a #15 pick in total trade value. They now have 2 picks in each of the first 4 rounds this year and consecutive picks in the 1st, so they are in a position to retool with cheaper contracts - not too shabby from their end either. we don't pick until #102 in the 3rd now. We may not even make the play-offs this year, but MM is a 1st year no-fear HC (at least in rhetoric terms) and it looks like entertainment is guaranteed, even if success may not necessarily accompany it.

Tyreek Hill and Mahomes combined for 46 td's, second only to Adams and Rogers. It will be interesting to see how the top 2 QB's (parked Brady for this one) cope without the best 2 receivers and vice versa. Miami going all in on Tua and giving him all the options. Does he have the arm for the deep threat or will it tun out to be another Baker Mayfield, who didn't and therefore what was the point of having Beckham on the team, but fair play to the Fins on backing him and hope he gets a full season in. I thought he played well last season. Chiefs, I think they got Hill in the 5th round and so are backing their ability to uncover another one in the draft. This year's draft is rich in receivers. They will definitely need someone as Reid passes 60 - 70% of the time as he doesn't run the damn ball and Mahomes has to play out of his mind at times but they do pay him $50m/year.

the Fins could be the most watchable team in the NFL & could do a Bengals,in 1 year going from a poor season to certain play-offs, and a possible run to the later stages (Championship game?). However as you say it is all on Tua to use these weapons. I heard on a podcast that Miami have the fastest 3 players in the league so are going to be difficult to mark. If their offensive line can hold, I think Tua is good enough but let's see. Fins fans have something to cheer after literally 20 years in the doldrums I fancy the Bills too to have a good season, they are ready made & proven. Some great QB/Offensive match ups in store next year.

@ Pioneer - good pick-up for the Bills, Von Miller. I hope the rivalry between our teams returns to the glorious level of the Kelly/Marino years and the Pats become irrelevant! (I can dream). I see your new stadium has been green-lighted. Another one for you to tick off! @ WatfordDale - check this out. 71 yard completion from Tua. We've acquired the #1 LT in FA and a decent lineman from Dallas so maybe Tua gets more protection from the OL than last year when we had turnstiles at each position. We've also brought a lot of "teaching" coaches in, so perhaps technique and discipline will also improve and Tua gets more time to pass. I read that Tua's average completion was 1 yd less than Mahomes last year. In addition, Tyreek Hill caught 9 passes in 2021 where the ball traveled 20+ air yards. This was from 25 attempts - the rest fell incomplete. Tua was the most accurate at this distance, but over much fewer attempts as the OL was so bad. Bombs are important to stretch a D and keep it honest, but in practice, they are not a big part of the 60-70 offensive plays called on any given Sunday except on highlight reels. YACs are where drives are made. There are two factors which should bode well. Tua is healing from the hip injury and getting stronger by the day. He is also one of the most accurate passers in the league given time, so he can lead Hill and Waddle with passes and hopefully get those YACs. Neither guarantees success, but both should give the fins a big leg up in terms of improvement. @NigeriaMark - All the above but McDaniels run heavy philosophy should give us a chance. We have been very predictable and one-dimensional for too long (just like Dale?) and the new offense promises to be the exact opposite. Mostert, Hill and Waddle are the trio of the 3 fastest. They are calling it the legion of zoom, but "we don't need no stinking Seahawks rip-off slogan". What will be most interesting for me to see is if we can play complementary football. Our D has been on the field too long in games but if we play ball-control offense and decent STs, we should be good for at least a play-off spot. Being run-oriented too, it should make us "weatherpoof" as much as we ever will be from the sunshine state. A lot of Championship games have gone through cold weather cities in January. The Bills will no doubt feature in post-season action, but the AFC is so stuffed with talent now it's an embarrassment of riches to some extent. There'll no doubt be many a play-off calibre regular season game played next year which may take its toll on some teams. Must admit, all the off-season moves have shaken the league up big style which adds to the interest and with a cap anticipated to be raised by another big number next year, the arms race may even escalate further? Mixed feelings about the stadium…so many memories (good and bad, but memories) . Took my kids there from when they were small, seen some absolute belting games (including the occasional loss to the fish!) and some remarkable players. The Pegulas have held the different levels of government to ransom …if you know buffalo you know there are a hell of a lot of other things money like this could be spent on to improve peoples lives. reduced capacity so fewer tickets available for the masses and no doubt the inevitable price increases. Oh and introducing seat licences so more gouging the real fans. Ill start saving up now for a ticket in 2026!
