NFR NFL play offs 11:29 - Jan 10 with 13062 views | pioneer | Some interesting play off games… will the bengals end their play off drought (31 years without a post season victory)? will Big Ben pull off one huge shock in his swansong for the steelers will the bills overcome the Pats 59 years after the only previous play off match up in the frozen tundra of orchard park (off course they will! Lets Go Buffalo) One big weekend coming up.

NFR NFL play offs on 15:57 - Mar 24 by DaleiLama | Indeed WD - the draft capital we gave up is more than worth a top-10 NFL player (our pick was #29 in the 1st) - he has most YACs since 2016 of any player and hot on the heels of the Terron Armstead acquisition from NO, we might just give the Bills a run for their money this year after being annihilated by them the last 3 seasons. The fins now have the three fastest men (clocked in-game) in the NFL. That's not track speed, either, they are football players in pads which gives me some heart. As with (almost) all NFL contracts, there's a trapdoor built in to make cutting him or renegotiating a deal possible. The Jets were the other suitor and they offered the same draft capital as us, so it was up to the player who he chose based on city/individual terms (he lives in S. Fla and as you say, no state tax!) KC were class throughout and made the process easier and have benefitted to the tune of the equivalent of a #15 pick in total trade value. They now have 2 picks in each of the first 4 rounds this year and consecutive picks in the 1st, so they are in a position to retool with cheaper contracts - not too shabby from their end either. we don't pick until #102 in the 3rd now. We may not even make the play-offs this year, but MM is a 1st year no-fear HC (at least in rhetoric terms) and it looks like entertainment is guaranteed, even if success may not necessarily accompany it. |
Just curious where you sit with this one given you didn't want DSW at Miami but is it OK with Tyreek Hill being there? A solid argument can be made that on the moral compass DSW is the lesser of the two evils compared to Tyreek Hill. No doubting his ability as a player but his life decisions and general ability as a human being have provided interesting discussion over the years.
NFR NFL play offs on 21:08 - May 9 with 1371 views | jonahwhereru | I cannot be across all the unsavoury incidents linked to all NFL players. If I were I think I would struggle to find a team to support. So I will stick with the wife beating, sex offending (allegedly) Browns. It’s the devil I know and they all have devil’s and demons. One issue is the Browns were known for being in a permanent state of chaos, but Andrew Berry seems to have a vision and uses fore thought a lot. So provided he can reign in the owner I will have to prepare for a period of relative stability. I‘ll just have to get used to that. BTW I have completely had my fill of the Baker Mayfield piece. I really don’t care what happens with that. The man himself is already financially sound and has enough self belief to make a success of himself.

Thanks for the heads up on that USADale. I had either forgotten that (not conveniently btw) or it slipped under my radar. Anyway, I read an account of it and nothing stuck in terms of charges, but I also tend towards the opinion that there's probably no smoke without fire in this instance. From that account, if he did break his infant son's arm, that is truly despicable, and as you say, at least an unsavoury as anything DSW may or may not have done. As a person, he has certainly gone down in my estimation. I also agree with Jonah's post above - going through rosters with a fine tooth comb and finding one which is 100% squeaky clean is a tall order indeed. As I'm sure you're aware residing over there, no matter how much you pay someone, it doesn't make them a good citizen. In fact, the opposite is sometimes true. Will still root for the Fins, and add that if he has committed the offences levelled at him, I hope he has learned some life lessons and can be a better man in future. Miami is not exactly the best city to avoid temptation though.

Always good to see the season fixtures announced and 121 days (apparently) to the first Sunday games. I've gone all-IPTV and not got recording capability at present, so pleased to see Miami only has 2 prime time (matchsticks under the eyelids games. Unlike this dozen!

NFR NFL play offs on 17:15 - May 13 with 1198 views | USADale | We got wind yesterday the Pats were playing in Vegas Dec 18th, managed to book flights and hotel for 4 nights given we had 24 hours to cancel. Luckily the info was correct when the schedule came out so able to get this before all the price gouging starts. To put the gouging in perspective we went o Nashville in 2018 for the Pats game, Southwest airlines wanted over $1000 for a direct flight from Boston there and back. I took pretty much the exact same flight 11 months earlier and that cost us $170, robbing b******s. We ended up flying into Louisville and renting a car for a few days driving 2 hours to Nashville , saved me and my mate between $6-700 each.

Hate how the whole hospitality sector does that. Y2k was the best example - everything quadrupled in price and pubs charged locals to enter. Everyone stayed at home. Well done for scoring a moral victory!

Yes price gouging by airlines in North America for big events is unlimited. Years ago I wanted to go to the CFL final and needed flights from Toronto to Winnipeg a standard 3 hour direct flight. Saved $500 per person by driving to Buffalo NY then flying via Chicago on a US airline. the return trip involved four border crossings to see a game in the same country!
NFR NFL play offs on 13:06 - May 14 with 1087 views | pioneer | Strange schedule for Bills fans. Only 2 home games before 30 october. 6 home games from October 30th. Weather tends to change around end of october so Bills fans will getting plenty of use of their thermal undies.
