More of a relief than anything. Very wise of the club to get this over the line before season tickets go on sale. Hopefully there wasn't too big of a severance payment.
Now to move on, and get someone in to do the role who has run a football club before. A safe pair of hands is absolutely necessary.
Let's hope this so called "lifelong fan" hasn't squeezed yet more undeserved money out of our club... not to worry I'm sure he'll be paying in next season with him being such a massive fan

He must have known that his days was numbered since that meeting with the trust for the voting, the club can finally move on now and start the new season with optimisation
Can't wait to see how he'll whitewash this on his LinkedIn profile
Summat like: "Following the appointment of a new Chairman at Rochdale AFC and a highly successful spell as CEO, I decided to seek new opportunities at senior executive level to progress my career."
Will any substantial organisation with any claim to a moral outlook take him on? YouTube gets everywhere these days

Fook Off Bottomley
I'm now happy to move on

Yes, looks like Chalky is reprieved and the new target is that smug looking tvvat.
Good news. Note to board. Please do not contemplate ever making any future CEO a voting board member. This is a football club not a blue chip company. This is now the opportunity to get governance in place that will lay out the accountabilities in the club for years to cup. Please don’t waste it.

They may not even go for a CEO. Take out the exceptional income & it's hardly a huge or complicated business. If the new board have the time they could have more a company secretary & oversee the manager role themselves as it is the main focus

It's a good point. I think we'd benefit from someone who has worked in the runnings of a football club before, something Mr Bottomley sorely lacked. How wide ranging/overpaid that role needs to be is a whole other matter.

George Delves could take up some of the "really hard" work Bottomley seemed to make for himself, in between pushing his profile on broadcast media
After several months in post, he'll now find himself part of a stable and well-run club that he thought he was joining

Those words "governance" and "accountability" are common themes of the last few months.
Both concepts desired, deemed inadequate and challenged by shareholders, it is a great reminder of the role that shareholders and fans can play.
The most important thing any of us can do is make sure that RAFC is here in 25 years time for the benefit of the community, current and future generations and work solidly towards that.
