Aussie instrumental psychedelia?

Why not:

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

A genetic experiment using DNA from Monster Magnet and Fu Manchu...and it worked! It's alive!

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

A cross between Ritchie Blackmore and early Malmsteed. Oh and the band have grown on me.

I bought the album this is on a few months ago and just listened to this track for the first time in a while. My word, it is decent!

Jim Matheos, who wrote it, is nowhere near being the best guitarist in the world, but I genuinely think he is one of the most accomplished song writers of all time. He blends together so many different elements. You think you know where the track is going, then it takes off abruptly in another direction.

This is all rather good if you like it riff heavy:

The musical equivalent of ADHD, but what a great album.

That was superb and new to me. Cheers.

I've followed them to check out more stuff. I'm going to buy this album on monday. Also reminded me of a heavier Avenged sevenfold

This album is pretty good too.

Glad you like it! They actually just released a new album the other day. Much more 'proggy', but pretty decent!

I will check that band out for sure.

New Sabaton song (in conjunction with World of Tanks which 'Talli Hoop now tells me has gone full pay to win. Shame, used to be a great game)

Minutes seem like days as fire ruled the sky, the rich became the beggars, the poor became the wise....

This line / accompanying riff is always stuck in my head. Possible unpopular opinion, but I think it is the best slayer album. I think as it is was the first one I ever heard. We used to have this old dictaphone we played tapes on when we went skating. My mate bought this album along one day and was a total game changer.

I think it is one of their best 'Reign in Blood' is my favourite.

I bought the remastered first album of 'between the buried and me' bloody superb thanks. I also bought a best of from 2011 which hasn't arrived yet.

Yeah, it's a close call between the two. Did you go see them play reign n blood in full at Alexandra Palace a few years ago? What a gig.

No worries, they're a great band!

Not metal but it rocks, listen to Larry Carlton's Gibson on this, what a fantastic sound.

Seems appropriate. My new one arrives on monday I can't wait.

This band are great. They are from France and do a lot of excellent thrash/death melodic instrumentals if you are unfamiliar with them.

New Maiden album is quality. Strong Brave New World vibes - in my opinion their best album since then. Let me know what you think.

RE: Slayer - if we're talking about unpopular opinions, my favourite album is Divine Intervention... sacrilege, I know, to choose one without Dave Lombardo on drums, but it just struck a note with me. Seasons in the Abyss 2nd, RIB 3rd...
