I thought the Hoilett part was known? Maybe not. Getting rid of Hoilett always sounded very appealing regardless. Fat arsed clown.

Hoilette was at Blackburn at that time and seemed quite good for them

Hoilett joined in summer 2012 & this took place in january 2013.

Like you, I was quite pleased when we signed him, but that didn't last for long!

Mel and I have spent many a long night in the crown agreeing that the hoilett signing was the one where we thought we’d truly arrived.

Turned out well.

"Speaking with brila.net on Wednesday through former teammate Ifeanyi Udeze’s diary;"

Assuming this is diary in the literal sense and not some fancy new word for a podcast, that is one hell of a journalistic flex on claiming an exclusive with the player!

Sadly, I was in the camp that thought he'd be a great signing.

Same here. I thought it was a real coup where we signed him. But then I thought the same when we signed Park.

In fairness, Hoilett was one of those players who was so badly mismanaged we made absolutely certain he had no chance to succeed for us. A very good player.

Damn.

Reverse Alchemy. The knack of turning Gold into Lead, not easy but something QPR have been particularly adept at on occasion.

Surely this gives us an excuse for the revival of the “Odemwingie in a dinghy” thread, the funniest one I’ve ever seen on LFW.

I know it's rarely that simple (though there were a few like this around then) but I only remember him as overweight and disinterested for us, complete with quite a vacant look on his face most of the time.

Which was even more frustrating because, yes, he had looked like a complete handful before he arrived.

I think Hoilett just didnt settle here. Too much off field stuff going on, too many players and egos and not enough game time. He was just another mercenary though. Still. At least he put in THAT cross.

Hoilett was a one-trick pony, but I think people are overestimating what he did for other clubs and underestimating what he did for us:

On Hoilett...I think people are underestimating what he did towards the end with us and overestimating what he is doing for Cardiff.

Have a look at his goal numbers in 2015—16 and 2017—18:

Not a world-beater and like so many of our players much better in the Championship than in the Premiership (even if we paid Premiership prices for them).

And in his usual success rate, that cross found a defender not a hooped shirt.
Keogh had almost as much impact for us as Junior !

Can there be another promotion-winning team from which the fans regard the goalscorer with equanimity at best, disparage the supplier and actively despise the manager? Or is is it one of those only at QPR things?

And he won the penalty vs Wigan in the second leg to get us back to 1-1.

I was very happy with Hoilett's signing, but it was Caulker that I was really excited about...
