The money aside bit was because I hazarded a guess his wage demands might be too high for our budget. Of course I would not suggest signing Messi.

As this is hypothetically assuming we have the money is it also based on us not already having 5 or six forwards vying for places (although one of these is Alby)? It just seems a completely bizarre name out of left field considering he hasn't played for over a year and only sparingly in the few seasons before that. Has he been openly touting himself around to clubs or summat, I just assumed he'd retired?
It pains me to say this, especially since i understand James to be a decent chap and a keen fan, but taking his absurd questions seriously only encourages him
I guess it's harmless enough, but I get the impression if he started a thread asking if anyone thinks the moon might be made of green cheese, he'd get some serious replies!

Have to agree. James seems a genuine chap but some of his posts are very ‘mong board’ at times.

They're very much on the same page as he is, in that we can't afford any of them.

I would hazard a guess Oxford have a larger budget than Rochdale. If they couldn't agree terms with Ranger, perhaps fiscal constraints were a big factor in us not signing him.

If money were no object of course we would like to sign a player like Messi or Salah. However I wouldn't be surprised if there are plenty of Championship players who we would not consider worth the expenditure. Anyway I did not say we should sign GA merely asked a question.

I'd agree with that... although he's not expressing views, but asking for them from others
