Bircham

There`s half your problem. WTF does he bring to the game ?.

I look at him and think, burgers.

'You didn't know that was wrong, but now you do. If you do it again, I'll know you are doing it on purpose.'

That's your problem.

I see threads like this and i wonder on what basis?

I mean speaking for myself, i would have literally no idea on what an individual coach is like - without having worked with them, how the hell could i?! So does the op know a lot i don't, or is this just pure speculation? In which case, wtf?

But he does indeed look like he's partial to a burger. Not that that makes him a bad coach.

What an idiotic comment. What can you possibly know about what he does or doesnt bring to the Squad? He's overweight. And that's relevant how?

You don’t even know what his name is, so i’m going to presume you haven’t got a fvcking clue what his coaching is like.

He does come across as a bit of an oaf in fairness. Not saying he’s not a good coach as I honestly have no idea but would be interested to know what he and Fleming’s strengths are.

I couldn't give a fvck if he was anorexic, he's employed as a coach. And until such times we have to back him. His QPR credentials cannot be disputed. A fan who used to travel to away games on LSA coaches. Played for the team, captained the team now he coaches the team. His input is not known on decisions because he is NOT the manager. The final decisions are made by Ian Holloway.

A big part of the problem this year is losing key players in the back line to injury, losing others to suspension and trying to get others off the wage bill.

I have been critical of Ollie for tactics and shape of the team, but I don't know what Birch or Flemming do or are allowed to do as coaches.

But when I stop to think I am none the wiser as to who would come in and replace them if they went and get on with dealing with a club that has been battered by a ridiculous fine, restrictions and previous bad high level decisions.

Survival in this league is vital. It's going to be tough. If we do survive then we have a chance to really bring younger players through. Until then we have to hope that this set of players can keep their chins up long enough to see us over the points line this season.

Remember that the likelihood is that players like Luongo, Smithies and a few others will almost certainly be going to bigger clubs next season because we simply can't compete with other clubs now and the players will possibly want to take their career's forward. We have to be prepared for that.

If Bircham brings nothing more than his passion for QPR to the table then I am happy with that at the moment

Marc/Mark on 12:32 - Dec 3 with 6540 viewsdaveB

about a year ago the moans on here was that JFH and last few managers and coaches had no passion for the club and we needed QPR people back who cared. Birchams name was often mentioned as being someone we should bring back.

A year on and we now don't want that we want something else again.

How good he is as a coach no one here knows, it's just a lazy stereotype that as he;s overweight and loves the club he mist be an idiot. Just s lazy as those saying Holloway has no idea with tactics when several times this season and last he's come up with game plans which have stopped the opposition and won us points. He'll never get it right every game as he's not perfect and no manager is and also the players are not that great so will ave good and bad days,

He did make a silly comment at the start of the pre-season that we would get all our transfer business done well in advance of the window closing.
Instead it all went to the wire again.

I would suspect he is there for motivational reasons, mindfulness of geeing up the players. No doubt he can do this. Such work does actually help as we may not like it but a quite a few players in the industry are indeed the "bless their little cotton socks" types. And only perform when boosted with flattery.

This I suspect is Birch’s real value add.
But I am just guessing.

I actually think we really could do with an experienced Assistant for Ollie. Ollie brings the passion, although I think he is starting to look a little burnt out and exhausted if I am honest.....we did well under him when Jackeet was his number 2.

I wonder if someone like Mclaren could help out short term?

OP is a long-standing poster on this board and it's previous incarnations.

He is a bit of a WUM, but in a good way.

Check the time of the post; I suspect liquid refreshment had been taken.

I.e Don't take this too seriously.

I dont know, do you have many years experience of playing professional football at championship and international level plus some years coaching experience? If the answer to those questions is yes and you send your CV in with a picture of you with Blue and white hair then you may be in with a shot

No I don't have many years experience of playing football at Championship and international football plus some years coaching experience. What I do have is as much passion for this club as the next man and your post I was originally replying too suggested that was sufficient
