QPR's "Academy" on 08:00 - May 12 with 4297 views | Bluce_Ree | How important is an academy when you're a club that has money? Every time we nurture a player into a full-time pro they are either too shit to stick with or occasionally they are good and so we lose them to a Premier League big boy club. Sure it'd be lovely to have a bunch of homegrown QPR fans that are hungry for success in our first team but, guess what? It's not the 1970s. Young footballer are c*nts now.

QPR's "Academy" on 08:59 - May 12 with 4188 views | qprrob59 | Norwich have one at Stonebridge Park, you couldn't make it up. In fact from what i've been told the situation behind the scenes regarding the academy and quality of players is worse than we realise.
QPR's "Academy" on 10:00 - May 12 with 4104 views | paulparker | The common thing in all of this is that we keep recruiting from Tottenhams reject bin Wherever that's from staff to ex players it has to stop The likes of Birch, Gallen & Langley should be running things they know what it takes to come through the youth teams and will care and do a lot better than aloud if Spurs rejects looking for a payday
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

No, the common denominator here is that we have owners who are 'playing at' running a football club. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Their education is proving rather expensive for the rest of us.

They could of invested in the youth team years ago and got facilities up and running by now but unfortunately we are way behind other clubs and its sad that kids would rather pick Southampton than a club on their door step
QPR's "Academy" on 16:24 - May 12 with 3604 views | vegasranger | The good thing is we now have a vision and ethos of how we should play from under 8's to the first team. I'm expecting to see a Bobby Zamora clone at all levels of our club. I think having a #9 with nuisance value could really catch on !!!

We could have spotted those 20 kids ourselves and signed them up
QPR's "Academy" on 16:41 - May 12 with 3564 views | derbyhoop | T best thing about it is that the 2 principal culprits, Rigg and Allen, have moved on. Perhaps, with Les overseeing things, it might get better from here on. But I'm not holding my breath.

QPR's "Academy" on 18:39 - May 12 with 3447 views | SomersetHoops | The article wouldn't load, but this one about scouting would and it gives us another reason to dislike Redcrapp and demonstrate that his legacy is worse than his performance while at the club. We probably can't now afford the scouting system Mike Rigg tried to put in place, but we desperately need good scouts and it seems for a short time we had them, but they were sacked before they could do anything. https://ficklefootball.wordpress.com/2014/01/05/scouting-what-scouting/

QPR's "Academy" on 19:48 - May 12 with 3361 views | Chesshoop | Posted previously on this subject as had first hand dealings with Richard Allen as my son was a ' Posh kid from Surrey' who was shown the door in the manner described in the article after being at QPR for 8 years. It is really sad to see the on going demise of the youth system at Rangers( who had excelled, albeit against limited opposition), this is surely emphasised by the performance of the U18's this season under the expert guidance of Paul Furlong( not all ex players make good coaches). Towards the end of the season the U18's turned up at Charlton with only 11 players, and this included a number of U15/U16 players. You would expect a pub team after a heavy night to turn up in this fashion but an Academy U18 team at professional football club, Charlton must have been laughing their socks off. On a more positive note, one of the Posh kids who released last season has been on the bench for Exeter's first team this season and another is a first team regular at Staines, which will hopefully develop their love for football and continue to highlight the ineptitude of Richard Allen.
QPR's "Academy" on 20:16 - May 12 with 3303 views | TacticalR | Richard Allen's crude behaviour and bureaucratic manoeuvring is described in some detail in McCool's article. Allen was one of Rigg's creatures and has gone off to join Rigg at the FA. With Dyke, Riggsy and Allen at the helm the World Cup is surely in the bag!
