Game in doubt? on 13:21 - Feb 6 by dingdangblue | They take some shifting those covers I imagine. When you see them rolled up on the side of the pitch theres an awful lot of weight there. Can only think they couldn't be arsed doing it - crazy no one saw the Weds/Thurs snow forecast as it was all over the news with talks of Thundersnow and Weatherbombs. Must have been busy counting the cash. [Post edited 6 Feb 2015 14:04]

The roll-on covers were put on within a few minutes when we helped before the Fleetwood game. Can the Trust confirm: 1) were these the covers that they helped to buy? 2) how long do these covers take to remove? 3) what temperatures do these covers protect against and exactly how much of the pitch do they cover? 4) on what days since the Stoke game were these covers used? With the recent additions to the Trust board, presumably these questions can be answered reasonably quickly. As the Trust use this messageboard to promote their good work, could they also respond here too. If not, the Trust website will do.

And if you have shade then forget it. Either way, they should at least be down if you have them. What happened to you groundsman. He got a lot of coverage fromGrow lights."

Would love to know the answers to these questions as well. I find it staggering that we can cope with quite a bit of snow and then struggle when the temperature drops to a couple below. If the covers weren't on then why the hell not? What is the point in having them if we aren't going to use them? Did the new groundsman have any input into this?

Those thick covers are dead easy to put on. All you need is a leaf blower to inflate the 'sausage' and away you go. The mesh covers are a right pain though and some of them have seen better days.

If we'd got three points on Saturday, going down would have seemed like only a remote possibility, but the game gets called off and ......
