That we have £25m in the bank from the sale of Bony

That money will be staggered over 2/3 years as a bare minimum

Wrong, the deal is £25m upfront, one off payment, with staggered add ons depending on Bony's impact

No after taxes and taking away the original purchase price plus interest and associated costs we will end up with pure profit of somewhere in the region of 7to 8million.we will receive this in three chunks over the next 3 years, that's how the deal was structured.

So no big war chest to use just yet.

Wish we could have held out for a better deal personally, sniff, but there you go.

It is immaterial. If we have £25m staged over 3 years and we use say £10m of it on players, we simply spread those deals over 3 years too.

A profit of £7-8m on the top Premier League goalscorer of 2014.

Shocking business.

Why take away the original purchase price though? There is a big difference between profit and money in the bank/guaranteed money payable over 3 years or whatever. I'm sure Wilf was bought primarily through revenue from ongoing TV money, its not as if we had a £12 million loan to buy him which we now need to pay back.

Rhe original outlay should not be brought in ro it.
Bony scored goals and there for sold shirts and other things there for gaining more publicity for the club and city.
What does annoy me is the fact we have sold one off the best strikers in Europe for just 25m.
And lets face it he is in the top 10.
Add to that the inflated prices that players go for (jo allen 15m) luke shaw 30?
Then we have been given the worst end off the stick.
We should have held on for the summer if we didnt get 30 m.
But end off an era and the deal as done .

How many teams do you see selling their prized asset in January for £10m less than they're worth?

Most clubs demand a premium for selling in January. We offered a discount.

What would you have done then J told him he wasn't going and expected him to put in a shift when he got back from Africa bitterly disappointed is it?
I'd like to have had £50 million for him but this is the way of the world these days.

As much as the board have done well in were we are they still make huge blunders at times.
Its well known the top players go for a lot more half way in to a successful season rather then summer.
Lets not forget the ki fiasco when hj didnt even know if he could call him back from Sunderland at what the contract stated.

Doesn't it? What part of Wilf's character leads you to believe that he'd have stropped had we not sold him? Were Southampton being silly when they refused to sell Schneiderlin for less than their valuation of him despite him making his desire to leave more than clear?

I'm sure if we had 10 points less atm we wouldn't have sold him yet. That said, if we'd gone down we'd be scrapping to get our £12M back

I don't have an issue with the timing, in fact the timing was perfect. We are safe in reality. We have half a season to adapt our style to hit the ground running next season. We have already got a replacement who was getting increasingly restless at not starting.

What I do object about is the deal we got. Or deal we gave to be more accurate. January is a sellers market and we seemingly got bent over by the buying club. Not just any buying club but one of the richest clubs in the world with a history of paying £20m+ for people with little to no reputation - let alone someone like Bony.

We now find ourselves with a significantly weaker side in both an attacking and defending sense and although it sounds crazy, dont have a ridiculous amount to rebuild with. Not in todays market anyway.

We should of told him to stay until the end of the season, I genuinely can't think of any other teams selling their top striker in January for a lot less than hes worth.

Bony had a release clause. He agreed to take that out so we could get more cash for him - his part of the deal was that he could leave for a big club.

If we didnt agree to that, he would have gone for 19m and ppl would have had a go at the club for that.

The club can't win, they have got the best deal possible but you will never please everyone.

Bony wa leving a long time ago, that was agreed by both the club and wilf - it was just the matter of getting the best deal possible.

The payments from Man City are staggered to comply with FFP
