Tram stop on 18:09 - Mar 13 with 2001 views | D_Alien | If you're going to a major event, where masses of people are crowding onto the OldTrafford platform for the return trip into Manc - here's a tip. Chances are, Metrolink won't have put any extra capacity (trams) on to cater for the event. When you get to the station, get the first train on the opposite platform and get off one stop further down (I think its Stretford). Then you'll be able to stroll onto the next tram back into Manc at your leisure instead of being caught up in the hordes at Old Trafford, and watch with an amused smile whilst they jostle for the doors when you arrive there! Old Trafford is the next stop after Trafford Bar on the Altrincham line.

Done that trick many a time coming out of Old Trafford games, always seems to work.

Oh right, but where do they go after Trafford Bar? Didn't realise that was on two lines.

Good alternative when going to the cricket then as we often get off at Trafford Bar anyway and go for a drink in the pub next to the station.
