Confirmed on the Offish. Amazing, really, yet at the same time totally predictable. Ashley Young widely criticised by just about everyone for an appalling dive - Young did not have the ball, so it couldn't be a goalscoring opportunity and the so-called 'foul' only came about because of horrendous officiating.
This is pretty much an admission of bias, even corruption. I hate Grant Holt, but King's assault of him was in another league to Derry's vague touch, yet he got nothing.
This is an invitation to players to dive, it's as simple as that. It's not good enough.

It's disgraceful really and they lack common sense. The whole situation would be put to bed if they rescinded the decision and then everybody would have accepted it was a bad mistake and got on with it.
They don't help themselves at the best of times and they really ought to explain the details and what led them to come to their decision, rather than just announcing factual information that Derry was dismissed for denying a goal scoring opportunity.
The way football is governed is what encourages players to go over easily. This crept into the game because of the way rules have been changed or been clarified, and then executed over the years and creating these exploitable grey areas for players to take advantage of. The players have adapted and clocked on, but the way the game has governed hasn't caught up or re-adjusted to mitigate for those issues.
