Warlord
"Russki kaputt" "arrrrrgggggghhhh"
Then I discovered Sven Hassel.
Should be an Hon Mention for the Private Eye p*ss-take version Battle For Britain, with Taffy Kinnock leading his band of British Tommies against the evil fascist dictator Herr Thatchler.
Pretty much every strip ended with "Fatty Heffer's cruel cockney humour" taking the rise out of the hapless Taffy.

Hagar the horrible, Andy Cap, my favourite used to be Wack, a factory worker that was a comic strip in the sun.

favourite cheese mature Cheddar. FFS there is no such thing as the EPL
In Oz we grew up on a mixture of English and American comic strips. Andy Cap was always at the bottom of the back page. To me, Bloom County by Berke Breathed was the best. It took off American politics but that tended to be subliminal with many other jokes thrown in.

Loved Viz. Sid the Sexist, Biffa Bacon, Postman Plod, Roger Mellie etc. And of course the letters page and top tips, superb.
Fave letters on Viz.
1. Instead of spending thousands to buy a personalised number plate, just change your name by deed poll for £25. Yours sincerely Mr. DFG 523L
2. To avoid missing a flight when running late to get to the airport: put on a Northern Irish accent, phone the airport, and tell them you've planted a bomb. Then relax and take all the time you beed.
'Always In Motion' by John Honney available on amazon.co.uk
As I kid I read scorcher and liked a story called Billy’s boots. Later in life I discovered viz and in my opinion Terry F**kwitt is the best character.
