We haven't laid a glove on them to be fair. Waters and Caprice have been the best players on show, whilst Hogan, Gilmour , Rodney and Mitchell have been very substandard. Waller my mom for Dale speaks volumes. | | | |

Reality check. We were second best to a team that looked more like a league side.
Too many average performances against a team with physicality and know how to defend a one nil lead. Not enough shots!
Play offs for us whereas I think they still have a title chance. They celebrated the win like they meant it.

Anyway, agree with one of the previous comments; Waller by far our MOM. In fact, probably the only one to come out of that with any real credit as the scoreline could have been a lot worse. We never looked like scoring, or even creating anything.

Not much to shout about tonight. We were second best throughout apart from the first 10. Wouldn’t fancy playing Oldham in the play offs if we get there. A chance to put things right on Saturday against the whipping boys. At least Fylde did us a favour. One good thing from tonight at least. | | | |

Tragic performance. If McNulty comes out and says anything other than ‘I got it wrong tonight’ then he needs to look at himself. Constant long balls up to Mitchell and he didn’t win a single header all night. Fondop showed him how a target man should be performing.

Missed first 5 minutes due to DAZN. From what I've seen, we are second best all over the pitch and slightly fortunate not to be two down. Linesman on main stand side is hopeless and missed a really obvious offside which could have led to a goal

You missed the best 5 minutes. It was a cracking pace for first 7 or 8 minutes. After that we couldn't get through a very organised and physical side. Will be interesting to see what Jim was asking with the over long long ball.

That seemed like every Oldham game there ever was. They came and did a job and won the game because they were solid and won scrappy battles. Bar the first ten mins when it was obvious we had the better footballers, Dale played into their hands and did little to trouble them.

Predictably tame in front of a decent crowd, we need a leader on nights like this but didnt seem to have one. Defensively we weren't bad, tidy in midfield, but Mitchell and Rodney are too easy to play against at this level of opposition, I am astonished Rodney lastes 87 minutes before getting the hook, his lack of pace is shocking and his decision making was embarrassing....
We got exactly what we deserved in the end , no fight, no guile and physically out gunned. Essentially men against boys. I have no doubt "lessons will be learned" but we have a lot to learn about digging out points and scoring scruffy goals. We played well for the first 10 minutes and created changes to score, but once again failed to take them. I will credit to Oldham, they came with a game plan and it worked, especially in the way the did bugger about with the ball, but got up to Fondop, who proved dangerous.
What was annoying in watching the Dale tonight, the way we resorted to possession football and tried to walk the ball into the box or hitting high balls into the box, which seem unable to win. Why can Jim not change his tactics in that we could all see what Oldham approach was and even worse, his substitutions were questionable, in that Rodney, who was poor in the first half, was kept on until the dying embers of the game.

Big Match,Big Flop......it's what we do. Where was the urgency as the game petered out into big boot stuff. Yes,we have very gifted young players but our good passing game was sadly missing tonight and no one could hold the ball up against solid defenders and a pressing midfield. And the big fella, Latics equivalent of Adebayo Akinfenwa was a capable defender as well as a proper handful in attack. Why not put in a cross from time to time as we attack and pass sideways, it might just cause some chaos?

Showed Dale up for being so lightweight, a big failing in Jim's teams. One Calvin Andrew would have contributed more than Mitchell and Rodney did together tonight.
Why oh why do we sign 6 or 7 samey midfield whippets when we need some muscle and grit for a game like this, games which will occur regularly in this league. Something MRKT clearly can't get its head round. Where is the Gary Jones type leader?
Going backwards (literally!) to the tippy tappy sideways backwards at the back in the second half when we're losing, and tippy tappy around the opposition box instead of firing a few shots in - bewildering.
Oldham have a corner with 2 minutes to go. We STILL don't leave a man up (Allarakhia would have been ideal) to give the opportunity of a punt / breakaway to equalise because the "coaching manual" says different. Bewildering.
Jim says we didn't play with enough passes - there was so much time wasted messing around passing the ball at crucial points in the game instead of acting incisively. Other tactics are available.
Apparently "the tension got to us tonight". Why? That should have been dealt with by the manager. "The tension" didn't get to Oldham.
Poor post-match by Jim. Blaming a pitch they lost on and Oldham won on isn't a viable excuse.
Jim has the potential to be a good manager but he is so slow to learn from mistakes we can all see and are discussed between friends post-match far too often.
