I want your honest opinion here, no games. My mother and sister both work in the NHS and are double-jabbed. Both are reluctant to take the booster owing to the way they reacted to the vaccine. My sister felt drowsy and fatigued for weeks, had numbness in her legs and noticed some quite disturbing arrhythmia. (She's a cardiologist by the way). It seems that the booster will soon be required in order for people to be fully vaccinated and for their COVID passport to be valid (take this as a given please for the sake of the Q and A). NHS will require this booster by April 1st, it seems. So what do you say of them? As the double-jabbed are not adequately protected against Omicron, are they, too, selfish? What would your impartial advice be? Neither want the booster in the slightest. My mother is 35 years+ with the NHS If your response is anything other than addressing the question, don't bother replying. As I've said before, the forum works best when sincerity is taken as a given. This situation is true. I look forward to your response. [Post edited 7 Jan 2022 12:00]

Yup it's that kind of week. What food do you now eat that you used to really dislike? For me it's olives, sprouts and sushi. There are others that I'll have to think about. Next please... |
| Forum Thread | Positives, and many of them. What are yours at 00:50 24 Jan 2021
Let's cleanse ourselves of the shocking and surprising amount of bickering and criticism on here today, after a sparkling performance. So many positives today, in the context of the match itself, and going forward. Cullen. Delightful, clever and deft finish for the first goal. So easy to sky a chance like that, but he showed a great touch that belied his lack of goalscoring at first-team level. Hourihane. 50 seconds in, freekick. Pings a delightful outswinger that is completely on the money. Two from that wing in the early stages that were bang on. Gylfiesque in its accuracy. His link-up and one-touch play was also notable. Found space, quick ball out to wing. The kind of instantaneous play that we need. More than two goals scored for a change. Youngsters on the scoresheet. Set-piece defending on point. Wing backs bombing forward. Overlaps. Fringe players equipping themselves well (Manning, Cullen, Dhanda) Hourihane blooded in successsfully. Lighten up some of you and be thankful that in this year of drudgery, we are in the mix, big time. 😎 [Post edited 24 Jan 2021 0:51]

| Forum Thread | SCFC Premier League Trivia Thread at 19:52 26 Nov 2020
Bit of fun on a dull Thursday. Can you ragamuffins name our top 10, all-time Premier League top scorers? And our top 11 players in order of assists? (Three are tied for 9th, with 6 assists). Bonus point - who is our highest-scoring centre half in the PL? (He isn't in the above 10 scorers by the way). Team effort required. 🤓 Goals ✅ Bony Michu Siggy Graham A Ayew Routs Dyer Gomis Ki Llorente ⌠JDG Pintado 🤪 Shelvey Assists ✅ Siggy Routs JDG Dyer Shelvey Hernandez Bony Carroll Naughton Montero Ki ⌠Allen Leon Michu Mawson scored 6 PL goals - our top-scoring CB. Ayew the lesser is 14th on the list with 8. [Post edited 28 Nov 2020 10:48]

I'm in another reading phase, and about to order a few books online. Any recommendations? I'm mainly looking for 20th century fiction. Thanks |

Let's take a trip down memory lane. The type of trip where not even a thousand rose-tinted specs could put any veneer of respectability on these, the football-hoofing excuses for professional footballers that played for SCFC. We will stick with 4-4-2 for ease. You must have, unfortunately, seen these uncoordinated abominations play, before your incredulous eyes. Let's be avin yer, or something. Your XI from hell. Good point today, regardless of performance. No away game is easy in this league. We aren't going to make waves this season; the entranched negativity resulting from Clement's ultra-defensive mindset is clearly residual at best. But we got a point instead of a probable defeat earlier in the season. Four points clear of the relegation zone. Should be the same margin as long as Arsenal do a job tomorrow on a listless Southampton. Game in hand over all teams below us, save the one team that we play on our turf. Last game of the season against a relegated Stoke, hopefully. It's in our hands. Could we ask for anything more? Fantasy football will never come between now and the season's end. So, chins up and stop facking moaning. |

How are the group positions worked out if two teams finish on the same points? Head-to-head or goal difference? There's a distinct chance Wales and Slovakia could both finish on 3 points... |

Watching the Welsh open snooker in Cardiff, and Ronnie O'Sullivan willingly turned down a 147 on the 13th red, in reaction to the meagre 10k prize money for a maximum. From the 7th red he was in conversation with the commentary box asking for the prize total, as he nonchalantly knocked in ball after ball. All this after a petulant few frames, and during a largely absent-minded performance. What are people's thoughts on this? Obviously most would give so much for a 147, and he has, unarguably, deprived us of a maximum. Great TV on a Monday afternoon though! [Post edited 15 Feb 2016 14:57]

| Forum Thread | Two Lonely Swans at 18:40 7 Feb 2014
Fate has dictated that my friend and I are playing a gig in Maesteg directly after the Swansea Cardiff game. I have heard that Maesteg is completely Blue, sorry, I mean red. Is this true? The proximity of the game to the start of our gig necessitates that we watch the game in Maesteg itself, which is not the most attractive proposition I have been offered. I don't know how to approach the game, as one hint that I am a Swans fan could really turn the crowd against us when we entertain them after the match. Thoughts? |
