I'm hoping to begin building a detached garage at the bottom of my garden. It is going to be a large garage with room for an additional garden room as well as storage for the usual garage junk one accumulates over time. The size of the slab foundation is around 5m X 7m.
The ground its going to be built on has a high water table so there is a danger of the ground freezing and expanding during the colder months. Question is how deep do i need to dig to get hardcore in to prevent any movement and possible cracking of any foundations/slab etc.
Anyone on here have enough knowledge on this sort of thing to advise?
Great news for @CardiffCityFC that Villa have gone up @PEBradbury . Need them out of the way for expected promotion challenge, so many good players. Should hv won the league really. Pleased for your Labour colleague @chrislay84

What a disappointment. Came with a good rep. but hasn't fulfilled anywhere near his reported potential. I hope a good rest, a decent pre-season and a good shag will benefit him.
Second year running they've lost both Men's and Women's boat race. Worrying for Oxford. Great to see Jimmy Cracknell getting a winners medal at 46 though!
I thought GP showed today he is streets ahead of the likes of Pulis. Pulis could not counter anything Potter did today and really showed himself as a fraud. I hope we are able to keep hold of Potter. With some investment into the type of player he wants, we could be a force to be reckoned with and not witnessed at the Liberty since the days of Rogers.
Let's hope he's not our first choice striker next season if OM gets shipped on. He's really not up to the standard we would need to be competitive at this level.
