Think this is linked to a £135K grant that the Welsh Government gave to CILIP to develop a training programme to assist librarians in "de-colonializing" library collections.

As far as i can gather, this involves a survey of the views and practices of library staff, a literature review, and development of a training programme.
As pointed out above, the latest statements suggest librarians should avoid meetings in "racist" buildings. Presumably we may want to reconsider our visits to ancient sites where horrible things happened (like Oystermouth castle), as racism is not the only evil.
Call me old fashioned, but I was always of the view that in university libraries, where many of the CILIP mob work, academics determine the curriculum and reading lists, and librarians arrange for those books to be available. Their degree of expertise in a given substantive area is likely to be quite limited. |  | | |

I read this,
Advisers on the process have made clear that planned training sessions should not take place in buildings with a “racist” past.
And that was enough for me, a building isn't racist, it doesn't have a racist past becuse it's building. People are racists, buildings are buildings.
Whar next, are we to not use horses because of their role in the slave trade back in the day? maybe we shouldn't travel anywhere because that's what slavers did.
People defend the Senedd OR criticise people who criticise those who do so, can't they see how batshite crazy the place is.
Maybe we should claim those reparations off Italy for what the Romans did, how about the norse countries?

The Telegraph has a deep hatred of the Labour party and the devolved Governments. They have agitated you and you have accepted it.
The Senedd is elected by Welsh people. It in itself is a reflection of the wishes of the people of Wales and it's minorities. It has proportional representation.
You can call them clowns but you me and our neighbours voted them in. You are welcome to write e mail or telephone your objections. |  |

I didn't vote for Labour either, I went Green. My neighbours are no fans of Labour either, well those immediately either side of me.
O want Wales run by good people, I don't care if they are Welsh or from outer Mongolia, as long as they are good at their jobs. As we have plenty of proof to show, the curent incumbents have for over 20 years been making a right mess of Wales.
