Only in the UK, whatever happened to basic common-sense by our so called betters. Putin is moving towards a wider war footing, he's testing our ariel response to his air forces incursions and now some dimwit decided to allow one of his ships loaded with enough ammonia nitrate to reshape part of the UK's eastern seaboard .This after the more sensible amongst the free world decide its too much of a risk to allow it to dock. Taking aside whether Russia is involved or not why would the UK take a risk of a major event occurring right here at home when the ship can still move under its own powe.
Ruled by Labour , controlled by the unions ,a nice prospect ahead .I see the nurses have turned down 5.5 % pay rise , anyone have any idea as to why they would do that
This must be the 4th or 5th bombshell from Labour, Pensioners winter fuel allowance, can’t rule out pension taxes and LTA changes, can’t rule out removing the single persons council tax discount and now they are clearly positioning us to expect a significant reduction in the armed forces spending, just when the world is at its most dangerous since the Cold War.
Disgusting , and yet the homeless of this country many veterans included have nothing . Government own figures show that since 2001 to 2022, 285 ex veterans committed suicide : Suicide 285 100% Male 264 93% Female 21 7% Waiting Verdicts [note 1] 27 100% Male 18 67% Female 9 33% Many of these abandoned by the state and yet if you illegally cross the channel you get the best of everything the state can provide just because we're a caring sharing society , but not if you happen to be British, then you can sing.
Stolen from their mothers , not in the 18th nor 19th century but in living memory of many today . Another establishment, again the Catholic church guilty of, imo heinous crimes .
O dear never mind , think of all the lives being saved .So a cyclist can break the limit but not its support car although its nice to think someone wearing lycra and little else but a fly ingrained smile is seemed more protected than someone o in a 1.5 tonne car.
Just wondering who's the indigenous population community leaders and is anyone listening to their concerns for example . This should be an all party conversation and I find it hypocritical that we have PM and deputy who were quite happy to take the knee , along with police officers when we had the ridiculous protests when Floyd died , this even after civil disobedience and destruction of property .Two tier in nearly everything nowadays , IMO of course,
A serving soldier was attacked near his barracks on Gillingham in Kent on Tuesday, he remains in a critical condition, his assailant a 24 year has been arrested and its not thought its a terror related incident but someone will a mental disorder, no s*** sherlock.
The Welsh government is considering banning free drink refills at restaurants and cafés as part of new health proposals. Health Secretary Eluned Morgan has launched a consultation aimed at restricting "promotions of food products high in fat, sugar, and salt". The proposals include: - Banning free drink refills at popular spots like Nando's and Five Guys. - Restricting buy-one-get-one-free and other promotional offers on unhealthy foods. - Prohibiting placement of high-fat, sugar, and salt products in prominent store locations and online. The government says these steps are about "supporting people in Wales to make the healthy choice" and improving our food environment. 🍏
Just a thought but instead of building massive inefficient solar farms which will supply up to 100,000 homes why not put the panels on the roofs of the 100,000 instead .
They're after your saving and now, for some their pensions, Sir Edward Troup, a former executive for HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) who has been advising Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves, said action has to be taken on pensions. He explained: "It's not easy and I don't hold a particular view about how we deliver something which I think, should be delivered. My generation, the pensioners' generation, if they've got income, if they've got means, should be contributing at least as much, and possibly more than those people who are working, bringing up families and are really contributing now to that country.'" .
