Its a good thing when very powerful people lie about a stolen election because they are so much of a baby man than to accept the result.

Defamation laws are there for a reason and you can’t just go around making up and broadcasting any old shite about innocent people. 148 million dollars does seem wildly excessive though. Thought there was something in the us constitution against cruel and excessive fines. It’s present in the English bill of rights of 1689 and the us constitution is basically that copied and pasted with the bits about the king deleted. |  |

Totally agree with you about the $175m figure, having read a few reports in to the case following the judgement it’s clear that the 2 women suffered a lot of trauma following Giuliani’s baseless allegations and will deservedly be compensated, but in my opinion the figure is OTT.
The 2 women received death threats and had to leave home after receiving warnings from the FBI that their lives were in danger. It appears Giuliani failed to cooperate with the Court process and comply with disclosures etc, so it’s no surprise he’s been found guilty. The punitive damages will make others think twice about making totally untrue malicious allegations. | | | |
