Any PC/Gaming PC experts on here? 14:37 - Jun 6 with 7047 views | Catullus | My son wants a gaming PC. Like many kids these days I guess, an Xbox just isn't good enough by itself. I've looked into it, checked out PC world and a website called Cyberpower who build cutom rigs. Has anyone got any recommendations or ideas? We're looking at round £600/700, nothing too posh.

Any PC/Gaming PC experts on here? on 22:11 - Oct 16 with 220 views | Plankton | 6-700 is quite a low budget for a gaming PC these days. Especially if you need everything, monitor, keyboard, mouse etc. The resolution of your monitor/TV largely determines how much power you need. Essentially, the bigger the resolution (such as 4K), the better graphics card/CPU combo is required. My monitor is a 32" MSI Curved screen with a resolution of 2560X1440 so 2K. To get a decent framerate at this resolution, you need at least an RTX 4060, which is around £300 just for the graphics card alone. Then you have to factor in the cost of motherboard, memory, storage, power supply, case, cooling etc. It's an expensive business. My current graphics card alone cost £550. (RTX 4070 Super)

Back in the day, this site used to be helpful for people building their own - worth a go. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/
