Labour manifesto - discuss 12:29 - May 16 with 15515 views | Legend83 | It would be funny if it wasn't so scary. - Raping business which will just regressively impact the poor he is supposedly saving - Un-funded intention to nationalise rail and utilities ("oh, we'll just borrow") - Income tax hike on £80k plus earners (conveniently above the wage of an MP) - Ministry of Labour (very Orwellian) - Nationalisation of Royal Mail...how if it is a publicly owned entity? State appropriation?? - Billions for this, that and the other - £46.8bn of taxes raised!

Labour manifesto - discuss on 11:56 - May 17 with 1614 views | rock1n | Employment rate is lowest in 42 yrs.... 42 yrs. Let's put it all at risk with anti business socialism. Fully costed, do me a favour that works on the basis that the taxes raised will not change behaviour. Get real, there's a reason we're the job capital of Europe and so attractive to immigrants. I suppose it'll lower immigration if that pleases you because we will all become poorer and many of us will be relying on either State benefits or State jobs for a living.

Guessing? Much higher taxes on companies and entrepreneurs, expanded regulations, pay multiples It doesn't take a nobel economist to see this will change behaviour tommy. As I said behaviour is shaped by Gov policy it's no coincidence that we have very high employment levels as a result of business friendly policy since 2010

So you've let the fact the tories have probably manipulated the system to get the figure of unemployment down hide the fact that there were 1.2milliom people eating from food banks last year. Real Wages are lower than they were 7 years ago and prices are growing twice as fast as wages currently are. Zero hour contracts is nearly at 1 million, I have a friend on one who hasn't had any work for 6 weeks with no holidays, no benefits and no redundancy either. All down to the tories and nobody else The number of people employed is totally irrelevant to the people already in work, living in poverty. [Post edited 17 May 2017 12:59]

I think people on benefits should be given food vouchers over money so they can't spend on booze and fags anyway. Food bank use just like zero hrs are used with such hyperbole by the left. In relative terms they are a small fraction of the population. Just because you know Dai down the road using one doesn't mean every fecker under the sun is going. If Corbyn was in charge people would still be using food banks do not kid yourself [Post edited 17 May 2017 14:55]

"Probably" - great argument there. Not forgetting that Labour under Blair were the masters of statistical spin. Zero hour contracts - a) introduced by, you guessed it, Labour; b) number of contracts is actually estimated between 1.3m and 2.2m; and most importantly c) only 32% of ZHC workers wanted more hours i.e. were unhappy with their contracts. There will be plenty more unhappy people if the flexibility (and therefore attractiveness to both employer and employee) of these contracts is removed as they will either be out of a job or prices will rise for all of us.

Because they don't need money for anything else but food, fags and booze. Just shows you're out of touch with reality. I'll be one of the ones hit by labours tax hikes so don't be fooled into thinking everyone voting labour is a dole bum, far from it.

Corbyn does not provide a panacea. I'm just stating that life is tough, there are no easy solutions to anything. We all have challenges because as humans we have choices to make in our daily lives. There are many things that people take for granted now that years ago would be considered luxuries. We are all much richer, but clearly as with any time in human history there are some who still struggle.
