I can see this working.

My assumption is that on more than a few occasions we'll see a CM pairing of Henry and Jenas. Both players are somewhat uninspiring but they both have mean f*cking engines which will see them covering every blade of grass over 90 minutes. It won't be pretty, but it might be what's required in the championship.

Unfortunately if the above prevails then you're hoping that we'll find some creativity on the wings and up top... We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

We should be hard to beat this season... That's almost a positive?!

as a team in the championship I think its a sensible signing
we aint gonna have Mbia,Granero,Park,Diakiti,Barton or maybe Jenas next year
Derry isn't gonna play 46 games either,
also judging by pre season HR looks like he is going to play Faurlin as our playmaker, so it makes sense in having a grafter like Henry to do Faurlins dirty work,
also we have a lot of business to do with ins & outs before the window closes and being in the championship we have the added bonus of doing loan deals through out the season
so lets not get our knickers in a twist just yet

Our time in the PL went south when ale was injured. Based on a few reports he might well be back. Additionally one report had him ticking well with granny.
Consider; the passing ability of these two together. Derry is a great old head, but Henry is now the enforcer that Derry used to be.

Lets hope Adam smith is recruited in. I am done with traore too.

i think he'll do ok for us but with any new signing always worth giving them 10 games before making a judgement, people raved about bosingwa after 3 games and wrote Furlong off after 1 so lets give him a chance

I'm torn on this one.

On the one hand, I'm not a fan of the man at all. On the other, it will really pi$$ off Barton, and anything that does that makes me grin.

We've still loads of midfielders, but then I think of how often last year I was screaming for someone to put their boot in in the middle of the park. While we've a lot of MFs, only Derry and Ale have grit and as we saw at West Ham if Ale isn't protected he can be out-muscled by a big basterd

I think the main issue is what Clive says in his report. If a wrecker in a 41221 then he could have a big impact. In a flat midfield four??? *shudder*

i doubt Mackie will be here next season and would be surprised if we don't play 4-4-2 going by the players we are after
