It’s another side with a new manager after another new manager embarrassed Steve Cooper who used to be a new manager before he became a slightly older one. That pathetic, gutless, outrageously poor and ridiculous performance by the swans in Birmingham has better not repeat itself or I for one will be very angry and objectionable ( again )
Swansea City v Preston North End EFL Championship Monday 5th April 2021 Liberty Stadium Kick off 3pm
Match Officials PETER BANKES James Mainwaring and Nick Greenhalgh Fourth Official : Sam Allison
LIVE ON SWANS TV
Swansea City need a win not only boost their confidence as they stutter over the play off line in what has been a torrid and unprofessional time for Steve Cooper and his swans team.
Here’s Peter, he used to work in a bank before he became a referee, he wasn’t a bank teller he was actually a cash point. Being the first human cash point meant a lot to Peter, so much so he Often visits them today to chat, reminisce and gently gaze in to each other’s eyes if he finds one he especially likes. He is a ably assisted by James Mainwaring from Dads Army.
Scott Sinclair Scott Sinclair joined the Jacks in the summer of 2010 and was an integral part of the that took them to the Premier League for the very first time the following summer, scoring a hat-trick at Wembley as the Swans defeated Reading 4-2 to earn a place at the top table of English football. He spent two years at the Liberty Stadium, before joined Manchester City, scoring 36 goals in 92 appearances — having made his home debut in a game against the Lilywhites, of all people.
Looking to the Bank Holiday clash with Steve Cooper’s side it could be Scott’s first appearance at the ground, since leaving for the Etihad: “I have great memories of my time there,” he recalled. “I was reflecting the other day that it was ten years since the Play-Off Final. “It is a great club, but we will be going there to try and get the three points and hopefully we can come away with the win. “There are a couple of people still there from my time at the club. The squad has changed a lot since I was there, but there are still a couple of old faces and it will be nice to see them.

The worrying thing is when the team was announced many on here got excited.
The team matters not when it plays in his image. We hoped they might also have a different attitude, and maybe, just maybe, be coached to pass to each other and move. I know, ridiculous.
Grimes has to be the most overrated central midfielder we have had in donkeys years. One footed wonder who has to swivel around just so he can use his left foot. Probably our best left back though.
Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Woodman- Not one of the games where he's cost us a goal. Did some basic keeping at times. Roberts- Poor Cabango- One of our better players on the pitch by a mile. A decent shift from him. Guehi- Looked ropey, like he has done for a while. Not bad by any stretch but glimpses of the player we saw when he first came on loan to us. Manning- tried to make things happen but lacked the final ball. Decent shift defensively. Fulton- I'm a fan but one of the worst performances I've seen him put in for us, Couldn't pass five yards. Grimes- Not one of his better performances but at least he showed for the ball unlike... Hourihane- Was he even playing? Whittaker- tried but nothing really came off for him today. Probably his worst performance for us but still looked our most dangerous player. Lowe- Awful, has been for months. Ayew- See above.
Can't comment on the subs because they were only on for 10 minutes, most of which we spent desperately trying not to concede (an act in which we failed).

What an earth does 'plays in his image' mean?

He was hopeless at left back another Potter blunder.

Is Ayew paid by the minute? How does he stay on?
Haven't posted for a while, but have to say that I agree with this and more.
80k a week and the right foot to stand on only. Constantly coughs up possession, tries to by cheap free kicks and continuous moaning at the officials. Not worth a fraction of the cost.

So, in what way is he a 'useless coach' ? Where is he going wrong?
Pass and move into space to provide the ball carrier with options is the most basic of football philosophies. We don't do this any more. The ball carrier has no options because players aren't moving into space and with no other options a ball is played to someone already under pressure from an opponent. It invariably results in the loss of possession and it's why we rarely string a number of passes together any more. The players don't appear to be playing for each other and are happy to get rid of the ball so they aren't the one who makes the mistake.

Right footed players called "right footed?? "

Yes, and at last some analysis. Indeed, that sounds like the players not doing the business.

Not a clue where we go from here. He tried a new system, changed players and we were still terrible.
Another loss coming Saturday.
This one hurts more than Birmingham to be honest. I never thought Cooper would abandon his 532. He did what most on here wanted, played more attacking players and we still looked clumsy and disjointed.
It doesn’t matter which formation you play, you have to be capable of transitioning from defence to midfield to attack. We just can’t do it.
I’m not sure if Grimes playing a bit further back would help? Play the link role that Britton bossed for years. I thought this formation would give us more of a threat, but the reality was Guehi and the fullbacks were nullified, because they had no one to cover them if they stepped out of defence or tried to bomb down the line.

And why do you think that is? We have watched this happen before. Monk & Bradley being the most extreme examples. Once the players are tired and losing confidence in the manager this is what happens, they spiral downwards along with the number of chances they create and goals they score.

It seems to me Cooper set his troops up for a 32 game season not a 46 game season. The players are bang out of form and outworked by a limited Preston team with nothing to play for, Clearly something is awry.
This is looks like a Sports Science issue. It is now possibly out of the control of both Cooper and his players. Mental and physical fatigue cannot be reversed in a few days. The season is effectively over.
Swansea city should be following 'best practice' not the logic of the 1960s. Cooper with his FA pedigree should be on top of these things.
