Toni Leistner to FC Koln? on 17:29 - Jan 30 with 2401 views | bosh67 | Problem is that like BFG 1 he and his family miss Germany and want to go back. Young family again. If I had a wife as fit as his and she said she wanted to go back to Germany I would probably do it. I hope we manage to keep hold of Jude as he's the only other big unit we have to stick at the back. No slower than the rest of them.

I have no idea where the phantom caution comes from and perhaps someone with a connection to the club can find out. I have gone through and checked both Clive's data and that on the BBC web site The EFL web site does not have match reports with lineups, goals, cautions, etc. Both say 9 and not ten. So, unless there is some unknown caution that was awarded to someone else and not to Cameron and then changed by the referee at a later stage, if that is allowed, or perhaps a youth game or.. I have no idea. One would assume that if the club is told this that they would not just accept it out of fashion but actually check against their own records. And if they announce it on the web then ten must be the case and not nine. Wish they could also enlighten us.

Not as staggering as Everton turning down £85million from Barcelona for Richarlison. [Post edited 30 Jan 2020 19:16]

I counted every yellow for Geoff from the BBC match reports themselves and got 10, I think it's right if Leistner is on say 15k as is rumoured and Koln are paying it all we're saving about £300k on wages just till the end of June, potentially enough to buy another Osayi-Samuel. We're a little thin on the ground over the next week but if Toni wants to go back to Germany then just like BFG MK1 there's no point keeping him against his will. Hopefully he's a success and we even get a fee for him.

Just wondering - wasn't there a game back of last year where Cameron committed a foul, but Hall got booked for it? At the School End? Maybe in retrospect that was changed but obviously all the match reports etc never got updated?

Depressing maybe, but not staggering. - Three weeks ago they were going to loan out Masterson, but he's come in and done well, so now Leistner has gone. We've got the same amount of centre backs we thought we wqere going to have, it's just different ones. - If Leistner is on the reported £20,000 a week then half a year of that is £500,000 odd, which presumably/hopefully his new club is swallowing a chunk of. - Presumably/hopefully a permanent deal is in the offing in the summer, maybe a transfer fee for a player the manager obviously doesn't rate. - We've got 38 points, we're not going up or down, they've clearly dedcided to justg sack this season off and try and save as much money as possible for next season. That's depressing, a lot of people are angry about it, difficult to sell season tickets to people while doing that. The key now is to make it clear how this will come back to us in the summer and beyond, and that it's not always going to be like this.

Good pro, done a valuable job for us over the last 18 months. Came in when Onuoha and Robinson had both left, and had that fcking massive danger Lynch next to him last year. I do worry that we're a bit nice, and soft. Scowen and Leistner were basically our only nasty players. Have heard anecdotally from a Championship referee that we're the nicest, quiestest bunch in the league.

If only we took Friday nights game more seriously we would have perhaps been able to keep Leinster and be 250k up into the bargain
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

Hence why we can't win on a cold winters night in a northern town or city. Powder puff is s term I like to use. When we get put under pressure we get blown away

When the going got tough Scowen and Leistner were as meek and culpable as the rest of them. (The former with added thicker sending-offs too because pashun or whatever). Bunch of soppy tarts you lot.
Toni Leistner to FC Koln? on 18:51 - Jan 30 with 1891 views | LeedsR | Definitely disappointed to see him go. Again, like Scowen, he had his limitations, hence why he was with us, but never shirked his duties. Solid in the air, our only real hard b*****d, and committed to the cause. I feel the comments about his passing a little unfair. Particularly last season, I always got worried about the team when it fell to Leistner to drive the team on. If he was coming out with the ball, it meant our midfielders weren’t doing their job, and he was hardly being spoilt for choice for his passing options. When his team mates made themselves available, he’d deliver, but so often last year, I don’t think the midfield helped him out. Obviously if his family are unsettled, he’d want to go back, so you can’t hold that against him. Danke Toni und tschüss! Du has immer tapfer und voll engagiert für uns gespielt. Viel Spaß bei den Kölner. Kölle alaaf!!

It sounds sensible and I have no doubt the board will recycle the same message. However I have little confidence that they will spend big in the summer, irrespective of the savings being made now. [Post edited 30 Jan 2020 19:21]

Well you know I agree with that. Said in the preview last week a club that's constantly pleads poverty to its fans cannot pass up opportunities for windfalls like that as readily as we do.
Toni Leistner to FC Koln? on 19:24 - Jan 30 with 1748 views | Hunterhoop | Good luck to the bloke. I understand the logic given his supposed salary. But he was our best centre back. Most headed clearances in the league last year; you don’t do that by being a bad centre half or being poor positionally. Before he joined when Onouha and Robinson left everyone was calling for a “kick it, head it”, no nonsense bast*rd. That’s what we got. Then people were calling for a Lacey ball playing centre half. We’re a difficult group to please. But Toni did his job, put his head where it hurt, got messed about by Warbs in the summer, didn’t kick off, and came back and did his job. Sure, he made mistakes but fewer than Barbet and Hall, and he stayed fit longer! Not in future plans and expensive so we are where we are. Good luck, Toni.

Toni Leistner to FC Koln? on 19:30 - Jan 30 with 1708 views | BrianMcCarthy | Ya, not too bothered about this. Saves his wages and hopefully helps to get him a permanent move so more cash for us. Couldn't see anyone in England paying much for him, but the Germans might. I thought he was ok, nothing more. On with the rebuilding.
