Pompey May Have Empty Seats On Saturday
Pompey May Have Empty Seats On Saturday
Tuesday, 3rd Apr 2012 09:40

It is looking like there may be a few hundred empty seats in the away section when Portsmouth visit St Mary's on Saturday for the South Coast Derby.

Portsmouth fans may have the embarrasment of empty seats in their section for their visit on Saturday, firstly its unclear whether they have actually sold all their tickets for the game, on their official site there is nothing confirming that they have sold out, indeed the last article on buying tickets indicates that there are still some left on general sale, although this is from some weeks ago.

In fact the only article on tickets since then was put up today, it makes no mention of whether all tickets are gone, but does confirm that over 150 supporters who have bought the vouchers needed for the tickets for the game, have yet to purchase their coach travel, due to their current financial predicament, Lucketts their usual provider of coaches for away games, would not take the risk of not being paid, so travel had to be booked seperately with them, on production of your voucher number, however with the deadline to book being 5pm tonight, it seems somewhere around a couple of hundred havent yet done so and face not being able to go to the game as the rules about travel are set in stone be the police.

Like our bubble for the game at Fratton, to get your match ticket you need to be on a coach or you wont get in, some Portsmouth fans are speculating that these people who havent booked dont wish to witness the humiliation if they are soundly beaten at St Mary's in what on paper is the most unevenly matched game between the two clubs since Saints visited Fratton on this day in 1976.

Before we throw stones I have not seen any SOLD OUT signs for home sections as of today!
That in itself is embarrassing.

Sorry was behing the times.
We have sold out thank goodness.
Can we stop disrespecting them please.
I would take 1-0 Saturday - it is NOT going to be easy.
Reading Birmingham & Cardiff scraped past them and late goals have done them alot recently.
They have been competetive and will be even more so Saturday.
We will likely be 2nd in the league by the time we play them and perhaps only 3 points ahead of WHAM.
There will be alot of pressure on us and if we dont score early then it is going to be very nervy.
Treat their team(obviously not their fans) with respect because all this talk of thrashings and record scores is not going to happen.

Perhaps you still have to purchase a Doncaster ticket to get a Pompey one!

Regarding the bubble arrangement for travelling just 20 miles, and now coach companies worried about getting paid, the whole thing is like a script from Yes Minister. When you think that there is a railway track a few yard from SMS, it's a pity that could not be used. A couple of trains from Fratton might have done the trick.

Nick, Stmichael does have a valid point. I can't see Pompey being "soundly beaten" in the "what on paper is the most unevenly matched" game between the two in recent history. Personally, I'm incredibly nervous. This isn't any old game and I for one would not be at all surprised if it ended in a draw, especially with the pressure we will be under, and the potential star players we could be missing. I would empty my wallet out now if you gave me a 1-0. That's all Reading got out of them and they didn't have the motivation in that game that they will for us. If we beat them by 3 or more I'll buy you a drink!!

Also, as much as I love the Saints if I'd watched back last Saturday's DVD before a game with the Saints I'd feel fairly confident of getting a result just by rounding up 10 of my mates. The only consolation is that they got thumped by a worse team!!

I will give you scummers a boost and say i am fearing the worst and will be starting early in the pub to try and deaden the pain
However,i do have to say that you lot never sold out at our place and i can still start the process of buying a ticket for a scum seat - not that i will of course as im bluer than the sky
I have some good friends who are scummers - a shame we can't be civil on game days but at least we appear to be allowed the privilege of alcohol in your ground which is progress within the ''bubble'
Shame you won't get to benefit from it for a long time lol as i can't see us playing you for a while
Good luck you filthy bastsuds. we hate u

I think it will be very close. First goal will be so important and I think only one goal will seperate the two teams. Hopefully it will be SAINTS of course and push the skates deeper down the pile. COYS

Id take a 1 goal loss now - beats the 4-1's we have had over you and ,as you are the massive favs in the ''most one sided looking battle for years'' i'd take 1-0 now

You thick skate coonts believe any old sh*t when it suits. We sold every ticket given to us at your place, the two small sterile areas in each bottom corner were there for a reason. The only tickets unsold were skate ones, you only had 17,000 to sell ffs.

The "most one sided looking battle for years" happened a couple of years back in the cup at St Mary's when a cheating Premier League side fielding players who shouldn't have been anywhere near the place were played off the park for an hour by a League One side.

Roll on Saturday. Sha-la-la.

What a pointless post. Nick.. Why do you care ? And st micael.. How exactly did birmingham "scrape past" pompey, when it was 4 or 5-1 portsmouth if I recall correctly ?
The way southampton played against brighton, leeds, millwall, blackpool.. If adkins doesn't wake up and make changes, We'll get a similar beating as birmingham had.

In the last 2 posts we have both sides of a scummer (prob both sides of a ''skate'' too if i am honest but i like to think i am a little better than most
Mushty is the completely retarded keyboard warrior type of skate hating tit that will have to do his homework before he holds daddies hand to the game whilstredandwhitedee is more reasoned (although i don't think you have too much to worry about on Saturday if i am honest)
Is Lambert really likely to miss then?I truly thought he would be fit and raring to go against us

That touched a nerve then.

Let's be honest 'redandwhitedee' just said something you wanted to hear. I bet you say calling us "Scummers" is perfectly acceptable in your world but you're no "keyboard warrior" and the "Dock Strike" (waits while I pick my head back off floor) is a true story and why, and I quote, "we hate u"
