The area that I feel we have often faltered most often this season is the holding midfield role. No two players have seemed to struck up a partnership if we are playing with four at the back and while I like Ball's tenacity I remain unconvinced with his ball playing ability. With Wallace's return I believe Manning should be given a chance in the middle. I know I may be guilty of romantiscing Manning's skill and passing but he looks like a very good footballer on the left and the fact that he has the intelligence to understand a position he has not grown up playing gives me even more faith he will succeed as our quaterback style midfielder.
I personally now feel is the time to offload some of our midfielders. We have chair and eze coming through and I feel we could most likely get 4-5 million for Freeman which could fund our striker problem. Eze provided an outlet in the first half yesterday against Fulham - which freeman simply didn't he constantly gave the ball away or hung on to it for too long. I also feel it would also be better for the team if Holloway did not feel obligated to shoe horn him in on the wings - where he clearly is not suited. Surely Oyasi - Samuel should be given a chance on the left or right wing of the front three.
