Are we looking at anyone? ... all the buzz seems to have calmed down, I know there are still 23 days til deadline, but .. just curious.

ML has made it clear that he wants one, but there is absolutely no need to rush now.

We have Bony, Michu and I'm even quietly confident that Rory can have his baptism of fire if need be. He looks confident enough.

I would guess that it's now about waiting until teams have made more signings and have more of an idea who will be in their plans this year, opening the door to a loan move.

For example, if Chelsea do sign Rooney, they'll have 4 players (Rooney, Torres, Ba and Lukaku) for one position. Maybe they'll then sell Torres, or maybe they'll be open to Lukaku going on loan again.

Di Santo has been available on a free since 30th June. If he signs, it would be evidence that whatever other targets we were looking at slipped through our fingers.

Defoe on loan would be fun.

Perhaps we are waiting to see how we got on in the preliminary rounds of the Europa league before deciding on the second big name striker. Maybe we should look at when the Ivory coast friendlies are too.

I wouldn't be too upset if we took Nicholas Bendner off Arsenals hands,

A very different type of striker to what we have, proven at this level and entering the last year of his Arsenal contract.

The thing with Bendtner is not the prize to get him off Arsenals hands, They're practically begging clubs to come get him. The problem is his silly wage demands he think he is entitled to.

The guy is wasting his talent away because he wants short term money. To me, that is neither being 'hungry' nor is it very intelligent on his part. Both things I would prefer to see in swansea players which I don't think he fits.

True. Arsenal just want to get rid.
I read somewhere he wants DKK15M yearly which is like 1.7M pounds.
No clubs, Malaga, Frankfurt, Twente etc. have been willing to pay this.
Still not suggesting this.

I'd quite fancy the guy malmo had up front against us the other day, he was very quick and tricky and would fit the different striker Laudrup is after. Would he be able to play for us in the group stages if we get there though?

For a backup striker of his quality & experience, if the number crunchers are happy, whether on loan or permanent, I'd be very happy with him as backup...

Did I read somewhere that Laudrup has never signed a Danish player?

Seems a bit odd if true?

I think he looked good too. I think I saw some club being in for him with a bid around £250k, if that's his going rate, surely we could be in there as well with a decent bid if Laudrup wanted him?

I am asuming he got the chance too to see a player on the team his own boys was facing off against, but maybe he prefres more info about a player rather than just "he did good in the match I saw him in"?

Vydra has gone to West Brom, so we can cross him off the list.

Season long loan.

Laudup is playing the waiting game on this too see what the big boys end up with, personally i hope liverpool keep suarez as maybe thats the key to possibly getting Borini on a seaosn loan as he would be behind suarez, aspas and sturridge. Also guidetti is still at man city. Not sure what Arsenal or Man utd could offer us as a back up stiker, chelsea get rooney then Ba or Lukaku maybe an option
