Hughes: I can't do any more for QPR on 19:37 - Nov 15 by RangersAreBack | Any success Hughes has enjoyed as a manager has been under a restricted framework with a limited budget. Under these conditions he has unearthed some talented players from around the globe. As soon as you give him money to spend he gets lazy and goes for the easy option; expensive signings or players he's worked with previously. QPR have little chance of attracting the world's best to Loftus Road so our transfer policy resulted in a collection of has-beens and primadonnas on inflated wages. The board would have been better served restricting Hughes' transfer budget irrespective of their personal wealth. |
In hindsight, I think that's exactly the problem
Hughes: I can't do any more for QPR on 22:41 - Nov 15 with 878 views | SpiritofGregory | Hughes' days are numbered. Even if Fernandes wanted to keep him, the rest of the board could call a meeting and vote to sack Hughes.

Exactly, it's not just uncle Tony's decision. Still think we will stuff saints and it will kick start our season

whilst thats true you can start to see his point of view now and he might be right, however Hughes did far better at Fulham than he has at Rangers even if we got 3 or 4 excellent results last season.

Think you're clinging on Thames. But I am too. Refuse to engage my brain and hate the bloke just in case he/we survive and somehow there's a turn around like last season

A great post, who was the last manager of any club to actually 'resign'?

It's looking more and more like Fayed *was* right. However, if there was ever a strange man it's cat assassin Fayed: "On election day in 1992, Fayed told a former SAS trooper, John Evans, to shoot his ginger tomcat, on the grounds that it was dirty. (Fayed has a famous dread of germs.) Evans, a veteran of Ulster who has the Military Medal, shot the wrong cat. Bower wrote: 'Hearing the news from the housekeeper, Fayed exploded: 'Fuggin' nothing is fugging done properly'. ' Evans was then required to ambush the right cat, but the cat escaped into the house with a bleeding head." http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/1998/oct/24/hamiltonvalfayed

Hughes: I can't do any more for QPR on 06:02 - Nov 16 with 709 views | isawqpratwcity | "The more I hear from him at the moment the more I think he's actually angling after the sack and the pay off. If he had any pride he'd resign if this Saturday doesn't go well." [Norf] He ain't gonna resign. Even if he wasn't after the cash, he won't admit defeat, although it surrounds him, everywhere he looks. I'm waiting on the manifestation of TF's criteria for dismissal. It may not happen this weekend, but keep them close to hand, Tony. Don't leave it too late.

As much as I'm grateful for what he's done down at Fulham, I'm not sure Al Fayed's the most reliable character witness in the world. Especially when it comes to people who've pi ssed him off.

Hughes: I can't do any more for QPR on 08:45 - Nov 16 with 638 views | isawqpratwcity | Look, who am I kidding? I think we're going to beat Soton, but not convincingly. Worse, I don't think even a draw would be enough for TF to press the DB5 ejector seat button. I hope TF has a plan for (eventually) replacing the incumbent. You do have to appreciate that he does open the wallet when required. I just hope he is getting top-grade advice on this. I just have so little faith that MH can do the business.

All those who raised the roof when he was appointed I wonder where they are now. Proper Premiership manager, knows the right people to get the right players into the club yeah yeah yeah. I tried to tell you and so did others.

Don't include me in that. I was neither for nor against Hughes when appointed. I just happened to think that TF was split-second right on the money to get rid of NW (and it's also optimistic for the future that MH 'emerged' from the shadows so quickly). As for the signings he's made, well I think his signings are the only positive thing he's done for the club. Cisse, Granero and Cesar would not have been here otherwise.

Hughes: I can't do any more for QPR on 09:21 - Nov 16 with 813 views | kropotkin41 | On the subject of Hughes' signings, they won't avail us much if we get relegated because I can't see us keeping many of them. The only betting odds that I can find for our next permanent manager have only Sven, Benitez and 'Arry in the running............... is there anyone else in the "shadows" I wonder.

At this stage, I don't give a sh*t about what happens if we are relegated (partly cos it'd be an absolute f*cking disaster), because we still have a bloody good chance of avoiding that. We need MH to go on the run of form of his life, or TF to find the replacement to turn this team around: it would have to be the replacement of the decade. Come on, Tony, man up.

I doubt there is a 'running'. It will be Redknapp IMO. Probably with him interviewing us again.
Hughes: I can't do any more for QPR on 10:58 - Nov 16 with 697 views | Gloucs_R | I will admit, I thought NW had done as much as he could and that Hughes would take us to the next level. How wrong I was. I'd rather have a team of battlers under NW than a what we have now. Look at Norwich and Swansea..... Saying that, I am not sure if we would have stayed up last season under NW. I dont think we would have won as many big games as we did.
