In for a difficult season? on 22:20 - Sep 26 by essextaxiboy | You have to ask yourself whether he was responsible for our survival . For me it was us the fans who lifted those players and got the home results that saved us . Our away form was and remains a disaster . I have never ever been less than supportive to a QPR manager , but this bloke is heading for an epic failure if he cant sort out his best side and way of playing . |
Well when he took over,we were in exactly the same position as where we finished the season so we didn't really improve as a team even though we'd invested heavily in January. For me he done the very least that was expected and we relied on quite a bit of luck on the final day.If i'm honest,i just don't rate the guy and think the only way we've benefited from his appointment is the players we've managed to attract.

I agree with this. Our away tactics and form have been dreadful under him, although the way we set about Spurs suggested maybe things were starting to change. I don't think knee jerk reactions are in order, and quite honestly although I wanted to progress in the cup, at this stage of the season it's all about getting points on the board so going out is no disaster, but how many times do the teams who are "to good to go down" go down? Too many. Things need to change soon or else the atmosphere is going to get ugly.

Also don'tbelieve some of the players carried the same attitude that Reading did. It's how we respond that's important now.

This. Reading had four attempts on target, that would be the three goals and the penalty save. Not time to slash the wrists just yet. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

We've got ourselves some great players now and things will turn round, stamp out the basic mistakes and we'll be fine with what we've got.

Can you copy and paste this under every doom monger post. 70 freaky seconds v spurs is the difference between joy and despair for some. WE'VE ONLY PLAYED 7 GAMES (and I'd ignore the first 3)

Agreed its to early to panic , the fixture list hasnt been kind to us and we have been unlucky with injuries . All my negative feeling are concerned his team selection for tonight although I have concerns over his man management , our lack of strikers in the 25 and why we are picking up similar injuries to several players.

This ^ Wouldn't have believed that fans could be so impatient and panicky. You really can't expect a new PL team bought in the Summer transfer window to be achieving anything in September. It's pure fantasy.

I'd broadly agree. At the end of the day it was a lashed together back four which didn't work very well. And let Gorks score unmarked for the first and Pog for the third. Not much anyone could have done abut the second. In midfield I thought Faurlin and Granero had good games but were out under pressure all the time and never quite found the space and time they enjoyed in the Chelsea and Sours games. Park was also good on the wing, again, but on several occasions in the second half his crosses were off target - I presume that's why MH brought Bobby on in his place. I thought Mackie had a good game, oddly enough and of course Hoilett and Cisse scored two great goals. I also feel we missed Zamora up front for most of the match. So all in a frustrating night but not as bad as some are making out. With the regular back four and with Bozza on for the whole game I think that would probably have ended 2-1 or 3-1 Rangers.

In for a difficult season? on 08:02 - Sep 27 with 1364 views | Neil_SI | I've always felt we'd be in for a difficult season, we shouldn't really expect anything less. When we were promoted, I often saw comments about how we should be taking sides like Swansea, Norwich, etc. But you often forget, that those were the kind of teams we struggled and competed against when we were promoted in the first place, they were the cream of the crop and hard battles in that division. So when you get into the top flight, that doesn't really change, although we've obviously changed a lot as a club since then. Every team has strengthened itself to some degree, so every match is going to be a challenge, particularly if you are not on your game and not playing consistently well. QPR over the years have always struggled to be consistent, apart from our Championship winning season. So, it will make a lot of those games you think should be winnable on paper a lot more tricky. The players have to have the right mentality for every match, otherwise they will come unstuck where they don't expect to, and that's the same for other clubs as well of course, not just us. But I've seen comments about the Swansea and Norwich fixtures earlier in the season, and last season, and about the upcoming games against West Ham and West Brom. These matches can go either way and it's hard to know which until you see the mentality and performance of the side on the day. Until we can get past that point and be confident that the majority of the time the best Rangers side is going to turn up, then we'll continue to have results that disappoint us when we're not expecting to. Obviously a couple of wins can really help confidence and morale, and be a springboard and platform to accelerate the progress we want to make, and that's what you hope and need to happen. Most importantly as fans, we can help inspire the players for these matches. We need to play our part too and really get behind them to give them that little bit of an extra push.

In for a difficult season? on 21:49 - Sep 26 by kensalriser | And what makes you think we will win the next game? To a team with one loss in the league against a team that beat us 5-0 at home. |
Because we're the only team to take a point from and prevent from scoring the team that are currently top of the league? If stats/form were that reliable there would be no bookmakers!

Of course anything can happen in one game. But out of the ten games played by West Ham and QPR only one has resulted in a West Ham loss and none in a QPR win. The odds are very much against us.

Actually the odds are very much FOR us, we are favourites to win on Monday. Best price was 23/20 last time I checked which is pretty good value I reckon. I'll do my usual and ask how much you're having on "favourites" West Ham if you're so convinced we're the underdogs?!
In for a difficult season? on 11:37 - Sep 27 with 1261 views | adhoc_qpr | It's pretty depressing that we were doing better last season at this stage. A win at home vs West Ham is a must to arrest the losing habit, but they are a tricky team to play and we could easily lose a tight game. WBA away is also no picnic and i wouldn't back us to turn our away form away there. One team tipped to do well always struggles badly each season - i'd say us, Liverpool and Villa look like the early contenders.

You have to look at the opposition faced . West Ham havnt taken on any of the big teams yet . They have a nightmare Nov and Dec . We will be above them at Christmas IMO
