I do think Rangers' fans need their own 'Blue Moon', 'Blaydon Races' or 'YNWA'. Something powerful, emotive and OURS, something that really sets us apart.
It is a yawning gap in the fan culture at Rangers, IMHO.
We are in some ways similar to Man City, in that many neutral or other football fans quite like Rangers. I think this close season is an opportune time to adopt a 'Rangers anthem' which will trigger scarves held aloft, singing in unison and the creation of an awesome visual and vocal outpouring of love for our club.

Does anyone remember or have an audio record of one we used to have in the 80s. Went something like this, 'Rangers, Queens Park Rangers, Rangers etc etc. Not quite an anthem but a catchy tune nonetheless.

So you backed that little runaround It was going for a song And now you wish you'd never bothered 'Cos it's always going wrong And you break down on the West way And the rain turns into blue And the Q.P.R. supporters Are all waving at you
Not an anthem, we have London calling but always loved these lyrics

Yup, it was this:
Christ on a bike, i love the rangers so much and i dont know if it is because at 28 i am too young for the glam rock thing but that song is just f*cking awful and WTF???? is going on in the picture 45 seconds in. Again, probably too young and 67 was 17 years before i was born but a lack and white minstrel on the pitch after the win!?!!? different era's but still

Christ I remember we were still rocking this awful number in the 80s. I'd rather the team walk out to the theme tune to steptoe and son than this rubbish!

The thing about London Calling is that nobody ever sings along to it!
I always think we should sing 'I can't help falling in love' for Faurlin anyways. Could transform into an anthem pretty quickly
I cant help Faurlin in love with you.... Rangers! Rangers! etc etc

Maybe someone could get the club to publish the words to 'London Calling' in the programme every week until it catches on? I'm sure Uncle Tony would be up for this if it meant generating an even better atmosphere.

It's just gotta be this by the Worlds biggest and possibly dead (I think) rock chick Doris Day's Move over Darling.
I’m all in a spin Move over darling I’ve got to give in Move over darling And though it’s not right, I’m too weak to fight it somehow Cos I want you right now.
My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

I think everybody's missing the point. A lot of foreign teams have their own songs, not versions of existing songs. We need to come up with an original tune with original lyrics that can be sung by everyone. I think we're a bit limited at QPR knowing only a few songs that all the crowd can sing to. Stoke City fans quoted that apart from a few 'Come on You R's' the home crowd seemed disjointed. Unfortunately the accoustics of Loftus Rd's home sections have always hindered a truly rocking, intimidating atmosphere - although we've given it a good go this year and can proudly say that when we've been vociferous ( mainly in abuse to the oppo) we've had some outstanding wins ie. CFC, AFC, THFC, LFC, Swansea.
Any theme song would require a slow build up, hands clappy and build up into a catchy crescendo. Thinking caps on during the summer !
