Did Man Citeh only name a 24 man squad at the end of the last window? I'd find it very strange if he was named in a 25 if they had no intention of playing him (which was appeared to be the case as they wanted rid and he wasn't there). If they only named a 24 that also seems quite strange with the number of players at their disposal. Anyone have any idea what they did or how he's eligable to play now?

Thanks, strange that they named him but probably good tactics not naming a 25 as they could introduce players where they were needed.

They named him in the squad so that there was no possible obstacle to him playing. Even though he fcked off, they didn't want to have any risk of him claiming 'obstacle to trade'.

As for him playing now, it's to retain some value for his impending sale this summer.
