Football is war without real fighting. But sometimes the boundaries get blurred. Don't forget the 1969 "Football War" between El Salvador and Honduras.

Death toll has increased again, really horrific stuff.

Never knowingly right.
Poll: How long before new signings become quivering wrecks of the players they were?

Difficult to see how they're going to ban England this time.

Was a set up from all accounts. Politics at its worst.

It's not football hooliganism. It's political unrest finding an outlet in football. Our closest approximation to this is Celtic vs Rangers.

Could you imagine what Fifa would do if that happened here?

This isn't football violence. This is is a country being being torn apart by corruption.

Similar to what's going on in Syria......outside interference.

"Try the whine!!!"

Terrible. Sadly a lot of this has to do with politics, religion and tribalism. Reports are saying this was organised behind the scenes beforehand, so may have happened regardless of the result. There was trouble at another game in Cairo last night too.
Football hooliganism, if you want to call it that, is apparently rife in the Arab world, but it needs a tragic scenario like last night to get world coverage.

There aint half been some clever bastards.
