Norwich are charging £10 for the visit of Brighton at the weekend, Brentford £15 for their game against Plymouth, Ipswich V Bristol Rovers £10, shows that Saints are overpriced

Absolutely. I am not paying £22 for a boring 3rd round game on TV, on a Sunday. Swansea are boring as you like. We won't win the FA Cup anyway. It's like a friendly game. I'm glad very few tickets have been sold because it sends a clear message, that it's overpriced. The owners are money grabbing idiots. I'm glad the fans have said f@ck you.

No Nick, what it shows is that our club is run by a bunch of imbeciles.

I’ve a mate who is going to Carrow Road and he tells me that it’s also only £5 for kids.

£10 for kids on the day Nick.

£76 for two adults and two kids ( including £6 booking ) on the day.

What parallel universe do those who run our club inhabit nowadays ?

In an article on the front page I pointed all these prices out, but the fact remains that you could have bought kids tickets for £5 in the first week of the sale and now you can get them for £7.50 up till the day of the game, so people have had the chance to get them at a cheaper rate.

I do agree that putting them up on the day is counter productive, but there is plenty of opportunity to buy tickets at the general sale rate.

But things like this arent the owners fault, it is those who run the ticket office, they are the ones pricing the game not Dragan Solak & Sport Republic, hold them to task for appointing the CEO as that is where the buck stops on small every day issues such as this

No disrespect intended Nick but honestly you are way off beam here.

You appear to be blaming the ticket office alone for what we both agree is overpricing, as if the ticket office was a separate entity to Sports Republic and their utterly hopeless C E O and Board.

Surely, you don’t truly believe that do you ?

This is not a normal season. In fact, it's the all-time worst season any team has ever had in the top flight of English football. Out of interest, to see if we could break any other records, I looked it up and discovered that 120 years ago Doncaster had the all-time lowest points total in any division, which was 8 points in the Second Division. We still need another 3 points to do better than that. But, that is being unfair on Doncaster, as there were only 2 points for a win back then.

How many fans left our last home game, a 0-5 defeat to Brentford, muttering, "I'm stuck with a season ticket so I'll go to the remaining league games, but there's no way I'm going to fork out any extra for a cup game"?

If you have a Season Ticket you don’t have to go.

I only wasted 2 hours of my valuable free time watching the Brentford debacle on my TV instead of a whole day travelling to Southampton.

Unfortunately the game didn’t sell out so my Season Ticket never made the ticket exchange.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

I know it's not compulsory, but our league games are still selling out.

No disrespect but have you ever been involved with ticket pricing at SFC ? I have been consulted up to fairly recently and the ticket office manager and the marketing director were the people responsible, between them they would set the price that would be rubber stamped by the CEO & board.

There is a process, the pricing would start with the ticket office and work upwards and not the other way round, Phil Parsons as CEO oversees each department, he doesn't run it for them, it would be highly unusual for the CEO to get involved at any level other than rubber stamping it or putting in some imput at a very late stage, the owners would not be involved at any stage.

The conversation does not go

Phil Parson's - Dragan Im just ringing you to ask if we should charge £10, £15 or £20 for the Swansea game ?

If it did the reply would probably go

Dragan - Im paying you a lot of money to oversee other people on a lot of money to deal with these trivial matters so (Serbian words for f*** off)

So, if you worked in the ticket office and wanted an easy time, you'd price the tickets as high as possible, sit back and relax. Job done. Your wages would still be the same.

You have a point, but given that most of the tickets are delivered digitally to the phone app, once you have priced the tickets there is very little work to physically do once you have set the price other than stare at a computer screen every now and then.

The ticket office manager has targets to meet, the CEO and subsequently the owners will be asking why we had say 10,000 at the game with an average price paid of £15 and gate receipts of £150,000

And why we didn't have 20,000 with an average price of £10 and gate receipts of £200,000 or 30,000 with a £7.50 average and £225,000 plus the added income from the fanzones and merchandising.

The ticket office manager has got this badly wrong or perhaps Dragan did get involved and said Iv'e stuck 100; of millions into this club and all the thanks i get is people slagging me off on social media so (Serbian words for F*** them)

Yes

I said this elsewhere, that both clubs have to agree on the price, so it won't necessarily all be down to Saints.

Also some clubs (Chelsea for example) charge a £2 booking fee for each ticket - so hopefully we don't follow suit next season !!

“ between them they would set the price that would be rubber stamped by the CEO and Board “.

So, on that basis the ticket office manager and marketing director are as completely out of touch in equal proportion to the C E O and Board members then ?

If between them they can’t even price a 3rd Round Sunday afternoon F A Cup game against Swansea attractively,it’s not difficult to understand why they have twice relegated our club from the Premier League in just three seasons is it ?

Honestly, have any of them got any interest in football and our fans or they just view it as an entertainment business with a football club attached ?
