I tried watching it again recently.
Christ! It's awful!
I saw it in the cinema when it came out because Mrs Sheen loved Kevin Costner so much. The people in front of us left after three minutes and we knew they had made the right call, but we were too polite and/or mean to follow them.
This Sporting Life. Not only is the on-pitch action (rugby league) unusually convincing, but itโs a time capsule of a suffocatingly tight-knit community about to be swept aside by individualism and economic disaster.

Great call. Haven't seen it in years. Will definitely watch again.
