No it doesn't. The story said he was jailed yesterday. He played nearly the whole 90 minutes today. I've seen football officials capable of noticing how far from the truth that is, at least with hindsight. If that doesn't make it clear how much value to place in something reported on a website without a quote or any supporting evidence, especially when the publication in question has a reputation like the Sun, then there's no hope. Other publications copying the Sun or independently following the same "methods" as the Sun doesn't make the Sun suddenly a source of any useful information. It makes those other publications just as bad.

The articles state that he has been sentenced to imprisonment, not that he's been incarcerated. There's a subtle difference. As explained in both the existing thread and match preview, continental procedure differs to the UK in that the defendant is able to walk free whilst the matter is referred to the review/appeal process. However, as it stands Chair is convicted. P.S. There's an existing thread on this topic running into 12 pages. Starting another thread makes you appear just as click-hungry as these publications. Since Chair's starting can we all now accept that the Sun is worthless? on 14:42 - Feb 25 with 1964 views | DylanP | That's not really how it works, is it? The article says he was sentenced to a year in prison by a foreign court. As he isn't in the custody of that legal system, he is free. There are a lot of legal steps before they could jail him: There will likely be an appeal, that could take a while. Then, the other country's legal authorities would have to request his extradition. That could take a while as well. I have no special insider knowledge, but it is common knowledge that it isn't as simple as you imply. Of and, yes the Sun is a worthless rag
