Jonathan Pearce 21:15 - Jan 16 with 4297 views | stowmarketrange | He is doing the commentary for the Brizzle game on bbc1.I don’t think I’ve ever heard such a biased commentary in all my life.He spent the 1st half going on about the Bristol chairman and how he’s done so well since he started his business empire from his bedroom. Then he goes on about their FA cup ties in the early 70’s and about players from that team being in the crowd. Then he goes on to waffle about the last time they beat West Ham in 1977 and what a special atmosphere it was. I always knew he was a brizzle fan from his time at capital radio, but does he have to drone on about them all the time instead of just commenting on what we can see?

Was hoping we would get Nakhi Wells back this window but that ain’t happening now. Last really decent forward we’ve had? Wish we’d signed him at the time: some were moaning he had no resale value but the arse has dropped out of the transfer market anyhow so would’ve been irrelevant and he’d have scored a lot of goals for us. Jonathan Pearce on 21:36 - Jan 16 with 4129 views | Watford_Ranger | Glad I wasn’t imagining this 90 minute reach around for Bristol City. West Ham have the worst team in the league on Sunday and then ten days off after they’ve already sacked off the League Cup. I’d be fuming.
Jonathan Pearce on 21:37 - Jan 16 with 4120 views | GaryBannister86 | Used to love him on Capital Gold back in the day. Made radio seem so exciting. Just don't think he ever translated to TV anywhere near as well. Favourite memory was when we came back from 2-0 to 2-2 at White Hart Lane. "AND TREVOR FRANCIS HAS EQUALISED FOR QUEENS PARK RANGERS!" Now that was "limbs" in the away end, looking at the video. Shame we lost 3-2.

We didn't have the money to buy him at the time, went for a few million and on a long contract. He was never that great for us, blew very hot and cold

He's definitely better than what we have now, but I remember both he and Hugill went through an extended and overlapping barren period.

Was in the away end, such a sickening result after coming back from two down. Sinton hit the side netting at 2-2 and many of us thought it had gone in. Not long after that they scored the winner ☹️

Jonathan Pearce on 10:06 - Jan 17 with 3216 views | Konk | I was at the game, but watched some of the BBC coverage on iPlayer this morning. It was definitely unusual having a commentator commentating on their own club. It was like Pearce had taken a young kid to the game and they'd asked him, 'Did you used to watch City when you were my age?' with Pearce then going on to detail every player, cup tie, owner, ground redevelopment and the name of the man who used to run the chip shop on the corner. I found it quite endearing, but it wasn't very BBC neutral! Took my son up to PNE on Saturday, and it was a long journey home after a poor performance, so I was well chuffed for him and his mates that they got to see their side turnover a top-half Prem team. They're all now dreaming of Wembley, which is lovely because City are mid-table personified and have been since they've been going down there. I still love the cup.

Yeah with the late great Bobby Moore, they managed to make even the Forth Division tuesday night Barnet or Leyton Orient ones sound really exciting.

The way we have approached cup competitions is probably my biggest bugbear over the last decade. So you're struggling to comply with FFP and need a way of maximising income you say? Let's just exit every cup competition as soon as possible.

City were unusually physical in both games, but I didn't think they were generally OTT in either game. Looking at KUMB you'd have thought City were the dirtiest team ever. Maybe it's them being used to every nudge being a foul in the PL, but they come across as a right bunch of soppy tarts. Sure they weren't so precious when Julian Dicks was running round kicking lumps out of everyone.

Benrhama was dumb to react but that looked a bad challenge on him. The sort to get a yellow in the Champ and a five minute VAR review in the prem.

Should have won that game, Sinton missed a one on one with Thorsted and Lineker completed his hattrick a few minutes later.

Funny, the thing I remember about that game was the number of R's in the Spurs seats.I'd got four freebies that day and was a little self conscious perched up with the Tottenhams fans. When our first went in, I was surprised that a good few jumped around me, then even more surprised when the second hit the back of the net to find every fourth person was cheering.

Of course he is not doubt about that but would have been mad to pay that money and give that contract to him
Jonathan Pearce on 12:32 - Jan 17 with 2862 views | HamptonR | JP is a bit Marmite. He can dismiss a brutal challenge, saying the offender isn't that type of player. Five minutes later he is screaming for another player to walk for a lesser offence. I honestly thought last nights co-commentary was by Tom Kerridge.
