Cricket world cup (non QPR) 09:24 - Oct 5 with 23293 viewsGaryBannister86

Can't believe it's 4 years since one of the best sporting days of my life....

Would be great to win it in India, tough ask I feel.

Sad to see such a small crowd for the opener. I know the ground holds 132,000 but that is pathetic. India cricket fans can be so one-eyed sometimes. Why not turn up to see some great players on show?

I thought last weekend was bad with the cricket, rugby and rangers results.

This weekend it’s qpr v Leicester on Saturday and India v England on Sunday.

Nah this weekend won't be as bad because we have 0 hope in both fixtures. Anything other than 2 crushing defeats will be a bonus.

4 more matches to play. That will be painful for all concerned. Funny how the players are all talented but the mentality seems to be lacking unlike in the test team. The coaching set up perhaps has a lot to answer for here in my opinion.

I was so tempted to get tickets for this World Cup and go to a few games.I’m even more glad that I resisted the temptation.
There’s always a test series in early 2024.

One of the best World Cup games ever. Great stuff from both sides.

Yep, one hell of a game and the most runs ever scored in a World Cup game.

I've got Radio London on for the footie and am watching Netherlands v Bangladesh while following Rangers on the LFW match thread. The Netherlands have Bangladesh in a spot of bother, Bangladesh are six down but still need 147 off 26 overs.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

The Netherlands cruise to victory. England bottom again and facing a nice, easy game against India tomorrow, gulp.

Got a funny feeling we beat India considering they’re heavy favourites…. There’s always a dodgy result at some point🤔

Fascinating watching Eoin Morgan's interview after the toss. He was incredulous that we didn't play to our strength and bat first, when low on confidence. He doesn't get much wrong, and I repeat, Key needs to get him in as white ball supremo. Now.

Unchanged team? we win the toss and decide to bowl first?

I’ve been saying for a while that they need to get Morgs in as White ball captain. He’s ruthless.
Mott seems to have sucked the life out of this England team

So far so good today though

Interesting total for England to chase, 230.

Flicked in and out of India innings this morning between chores. Was impressed with England so far. Especially they way Kohli was out. Always knew if you keep him tight he is prone to rash shots.

Now the chase

Note to some here: Morgan is good, but not always right.

Malan and Root gone in consecutive balls.
I could of course be wrong but an England collapse is well on the cards here now.

Of course Morgan is not always right, but he is inspirational, innovative and a far better thinker on the game than anyone else we have.

We're not going to chase these down, are we? Shame would be nice to upstage the insufferable India.

Stokes bowled in a horrible clatter of stumps. I know it is only 3 down but that is game over if you ask me.

Muddled thinking, which is most unlike Stokes and symptomatic of the change in coaching in leadership.

Mott out, Morgan in.

Someone needs to tell them they can't come home until they've played all their games. Brain dead cricket again.

On a side note, Kohli has gotta have one of the most punchable faces in world sport.

How bad has Bairstow been over the last year or so? Must be drinking in the Jason Roy last chance saloon.

Looking forward to Mo creaming a couple of drives then looping one tamely to cover.
