Just as well after September 2023 the 20mph speed limit will be introduced in Wales costing the Welsh economy billions a year according to the Senedd's own report.

I wonder how long it will take to get from the motorway to the airport when the 20mph kicks in. Will anyone make the journey or just head to Bristol.

The M4 will be mostly a 50mph limit soon too. Seriously, is there anything that the WG can actually do well?

As posted on the Drakeford thread seems they don't https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/columnist-says-mark-drakeford-brin I particularly agree with ...... “Drakeford represents the worst of devolution. He glories in all the trappings of power, but avoids any genuine responsibility. Over a hundred years, Wales has produced some of Britain’s greatest leaders. David Lloyd George, Nye Bevan and Roy Jenkins were all major figures, capable of reshaping the political landscape. They were reformers of vision. “Devolution, however, has elevated political pygmies to positions of power and influence. Drakeford will leave behind a legacy of failure, whinging and division. Wales is capable of much better — and if devolution can’t produce more inspiring leaders, we would be better off without it.”

Meanwhile England are trialling 60mph the speed recommended to reduce pollution. Never mind we do things differently in Wales.

Speed limits should be going up, not down. The stopping distances in the Highway Code are hopelessly out of date, as Top Gear once demonstrated. 80-85mph is perfectly fine in a modern vehicle, but of course, emissions.

The Welsh Assembly is, was and always has been primarily a job creation scheme for second rate party hacks. There's no other reason why they're so keen to stuff the place with even more of them. Any Welsh politician of talent looks first and foremost to Westminster. Those who can't manage that go to the Senedd.

Maybe not, but the amount of taxpayers money being pumped into it is nothing short of scandalous, and they can't give nurses a pay rise. It's on its last legs, Bristol has blown it out of the water

That's not what he's saying, point spectacularly missed or deliberately ignored. Another airline leaving means fewer passengers which means less income which then means the Senedd have to put more money into the airport to keep it going.

No, the report said 4.5 billion over 30 years, 150 million per year? Even so, if they say that much the truth will probably be at least doubled because we know full well how these reports work!

Probably on the same level as Exeter never mind Bristol. Until they get the likes of Ryanair or EasyJet in it’s a waste of time. I’m have 4 flights booked this year all out of Bristol, cheaper & better flight times than Cardiff 2 flights we couldn’t even fly from Cardiff.
Wizz Air Pull Out of Cardiff Airport on 21:59 - Jan 10 with 4499 views | BryanSwan | It's a shame that APD has never been devolved. Might've meant flights from Cardiff wouldn't be ridiculously expensive. Without that or huge investment it is bound to fail. Bit of a shame as it'd be nice to only have a half hour drive to the airport.

You've got to ask yourself, why is Bristol airport booming and Cardiff airport dying. Cardiff seems to have a good catchment area for custom, yet a lot of those customers prefer to drive past Cardiff to get to Bristol, poor management, poor access and poor facilities.

Cost & flight times for me Flash. Going to Ibiza on a stag end of April & no option for Cardiff flight. Dubrovnik (no option from Cardiff) & Cyprus was more expensive & awful times.
