If you're happy with that and are happy for work in progres then that is up to you WE applies to many punters who wont append anything because the likes of Dr Winston will seek to ridicule .Just begs the question ,who is Dr Winston. WE are near the bottom of the league We do not look like winning ANY game right now WE are easy to play against We lost today against the massive and recently promoted Hull City. My God,why hast thou forsaken us. |
If you are having a rant because you think we lost today🤫🙄🤪

That is my suspicion as well Martin is a smooth talking manager and there are many of those types in the game and most end up being failures, yet the naive among us are already taken in by him dispite him not having any success in management, unless you call success getting Mk Dons to play neat football across the park without any attacking prowess and failing to get them a top half finish in Division 2.

At times Downes and Grimes were our deepest players with three centre halves pushing on into midfield to play the football. Not sure that's where a spark is going to come from, despite Naughton's one decent shot. It's several steps forward from where we were, against a poor side. If we could take some of the quick interplay we were using in our own half into the opposition's (Downes especially, played some excellent stuff under pressure but near the opposition's box wouldn't try to lay a glove), and take on more shots without having to be egged on by the crowd, we might get some results.

You say taken in, I'd say giving him time. Today was an improvement in my mind. Some good interlinking and attacking. OK, we didn't score but we are heading in the right direction. We'll see after 10-15 games. As it stands I reckon we'll be fine.

The guy is 35 years old! How much success can you possibly have at that age? You'd say his only season as a manager was a failure?

Not easy is it being objective. I am certain many are upset and worried but won’t ever say so on here .it’s a shame as people are still being bullied,as is obvious. I cannot believe how low our expectations have become It is profoundly depressing. We are apparently living in hope for better things purely because Martin has said they will be . I have never been so suspicious of any previous manager as Martin is clearly very clever in away the likes of Bobby Brad could only dream of. We ve swallowed it whole Anyone who says that will get brickbats

How on earth have you come to that conclusion so early in the season? The team has changed beyond recognition - so many new players. My gripe is that there is no pace in the team and the build up is slow and predictable. But I’m happy to give the team time to settle in and start playing with more intent, purpose and confidence. At the moment they look very unsure of themselves where it matters - in the opponents’ ‘final third’. I’ve seen some promising signs of individual skills and ability, so I see better, more positive performances ahead. I’m still prepared to give the manager more time to create a winning team. He has some, if not most, of the ingredients. Let’s see if he can meld them into a team that wins games. I think he will.

Absolutely. Who is Grimes seen as having a great left foot. No evidence at all of that. Downes is a class act and stands out. He is a captain and should be. He does more than Grimes and should be rewarding with the captaincy. Personally I would bench Grimes and that would see us move forward We might see a few decent corners too

Because it is a result of what I see. I ask you where so early in the season are you giving Martin unchallenged support. This is it then.? Don’t toe the line and this is the crepe you get

Downes is superb, Ntcham very good. I don't think we need Grimes - Downes & Ntcham can do what he does and more. Should have sold on deadline day & brought in someone who's more direct (Patterson isn't the answer). Nice to watch at times, frustrating at times, bit concerned we won't score enough.

I thought that we lacked the confidence to try things around the box. A goal would perhaps given that confidence. We appeared to have more than one good shout for a penalty as well. Definitely an improvement, today we just needed a bit of luck. My biggest concern still is that there isn't enough goals in the team.

Reasoned response which sees us getting back to topic . Good man We look clueless in front of goal YET Piroe ,to me,is a real find and all efforts made to get balls to him. Negative .? He is one positive right now but problem is our coach hasn’t found a say to maximise his potential Yet, he benches Benda and ignores Whittaker after a hat trick. Weird innit

We’ve played 6 games out of 46. Today was the first time we’ve seen some of the players. As I’ve posted, I wasn’t impressed by the performance - in a nutshell, slow, ponderous and predictable in those crucial areas of the pitch. I don’t see that as all the manager’s fault. But I’ll wait and see. We didn’t lose today but I find it hard to celebrate a 0-0 at home. I’m not giving the manager ‘unchallenged support’ but I am giving him the benefit of the doubt, and more time to work with the team. I might be wrong to do so. We’ll see.

Great post Sir. I am just genuinely baffled a to why Martin is so trusted although, frankly,it's a magtter of desperation and pure hope he gets it right. I hope he does too. Right now, nobody but NOBODY can ay he will. and thoe who have their doubts should be respected for having that view. That is my point.Simple as that.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. I believe he was signed as the direct Grimes replacement and not the line breaking direct attacking midfielder we need. Although that solo goal is doing the rounds so I maybe be wrong.

I believe he was and it gives us a problem;we cant start them both. The French chap looks very handy and he and Piroe are the ones to get most involved if at all possible. Laird looks a terrific lad but we have not seen our players attack the ball in the box and that is down to coaching. Our coach has aid he has been working hard We are fourth from bottom . Sheff Utd will now pull away. Like it or not,the game /the club is all about results. To deny that is football suicide. Too many seem to like the noose right now

Swansea City v Hull City : Matchday Thread 2021/22 *SATURDAY UPDATE on 20:40 - Sep 11 with 1131 views | felixstowe_jack | Two very poor sides on show today. Swansea for all their possession did not get the ball forward quickly enough. This allowed Hull to get numbers back and put up a defensive wall. Very little width or getting behind the defence. Going to be a long hard season.

We continued to try to play through the midfield. Hull then pushed their defence up and condensed the whole off the midfield making it virtually impossible to play through. We needed someone to break from midfield onto a through ball or one over the top, this would have pushed them back and given us more space. Sometimes we need to vary the tactics to succeed.

First game back after the international break and 10 days with the new signings, most fans have been positive about the way we played and very few have been negative so i have bookmarked your last sentence as I think we have turned a corner.
