Infection and hospital rates climbing rapidly. Death rates projected at 200 per day. Nearly 4m people at serious risk. New information coming out about the problems Covid cause the body if it doesn’t kill you. People laid up for the best part of a year with serious complications. Concern over the AstraZenica vaccine. Is it really wise to lift most of the restrictions on Monday? We have been told that we aren’t going back into another lockdown situation no matter what, but Whitty seems to think it might have to be on the cards.

Yes I will tell it to anyone who can understand and compare numbers and I'll back up my argument with anyone. First, people will die having had the vaccine because many many old people (and younger people too) are going to die anyway whether or not they have had a jab. There is good actuarial data on death rates - what you should be looking for is deviation from that, not just anecotes of individual deaths. You might as well try and correlate eating raspberry jelly as a cause of death in a care home and you'll find plenty of "cases" and plenty of apparent symptoms . If you set out with a presupposition of a cause, then every death you are going to ascribe to that cause - hence we read rubbish about covid jabs having myriad "side effects". If there is a direct causation you find the same symptoms. Your last sentence is the kind of paranoid garbage I find it hard to argue with because I'd expect it to come from a child or a half wit.
I think you are complacent and dismissive GG about how far the state will go once you hand over rights, you should look at the Chinese credit score system and see if that is something that appeals to you before you hand over your bodily autonomy. This story from July;
Boris Johnson is set to introduce a social-credit system in the United Kingdom with a view to combating obesity and improving bodily health among the British public.
According to the Telegraph newspaper, “the scheme will monitor family supermarket spending, rewarding those who reduce their calorie intake and buy more fruit and vegetables. People increasing their exercise by taking part in organized events or walking to school will also accumulate extra ‘points’ in a new app.” These “loyalty points” can then be cashed in for discounts and other incentives.
The prime minister believes that his own obesity was to blame for the near-death experience he underwent while infected with COVID-19 during the pandemic. Now, Mr. Johnson appears intent on bringing the entire nation along with him on his personal quest for rude health. The preferences of the one will be visited upon the grocery receipts of the many, as part of a softer, more Huxleyan imitation of Kim Jong-un’s rules for North Korean haircuts.
British government sources are speaking about this program as if the apparatus of the state is an appendage of the prime minister’s personal lifestyle. One Whitehall source told the Telegraph that Johnson “has been on a very rigorous diet and exercise programme and it is likely he will play a leading role in fronting this whole campaign.” The connection being drawn here between the prime minister’s diet and activities on the one hand and the merits of a government policy on the other are somewhat cultlike. The anonymous government source who gave this quote speaks of the prime minister as a pagan acolyte might speak of a priest-king who recapitulates in his own person the trials and triumphs of the whole tribe. The reason this argument fails is that the condition of one’s body and one’s health are, in a moral sense, just about the most private concerns imaginable. Conceding the premise that the state has a right to manipulate and cajole matters as invasive as one’s blood pressure or one’s body-fat percentages amounts to conceding that the state has a right to do just about anything to whomever it pleases.
I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it.

You put up a theory of stupidity having claimed that Covid vaccination is a way for the Government to control the people. How many officials and ministers do you think would have to be in on such a conspiracy and all of them to remain completely silent, to their friends and family for this to work, when not even tiny acts of criminality in the country remains secret for long? How do you get 140 countries to all agree to be "in" on this conspiracy? And again, how do you get all the officials in all of them to keep silent? And that includes all the communication enablers too who aren't even part of the state. Why do you think "they" need to control you anyway? "They" can control you in ways far easier than this and without any paranoid nonsense. If you want to start trading on the myriad laws of rhetorical fallacy we seem to have arrived back at Dunning Krueger again.
It makes me laugh how complicated people think conspiracies need to be. Agendas are chosen and funding is given or taken away dependant on what "experts" say, people are promoted or de-platformed depending on what they say. On covid lockdown for example those advocating focused protection were marginalised and demonised, while other much less qualified, despite breaking his own rules, having useless models that were not even close (Prof Ferguson) continue to thrive.
Jeffrey Epstein is an accessible case of conspiracy and cover up, even watching the wholly inadequate Netflix series will give you a taster of what conspiracy looks like and how easily people can be bought and manipulated.
I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it.

This also;
This humiliating scheme of Chinese-style social credit is clearly a product of the pandemic in more than one sense. Of its genesis in the prime minister’s confrontation with his own mortality in the form of the virus, there is no need to say more, but broader historical forces are also in operation as well. One of the many reasons that wars, pandemics, and other cataclysms have such dire consequences long after they end is that governments feel emboldened by the powers they assume in crises to stake out their new prerogatives as a fresh front from which they will not retreat. Rarely does the state ever relinquish powers that it accrues to itself. Income tax was first introduced in Great Britain by William Pitt the Younger in January of 1799 as a temporary emergency measure to cover the cost of Britain’s war with France. Now, 222 years later, it is still with us. Similarly, the disorganized and scattershot confectionary of federal programs that we call “the New Deal” was enabled by the Great Depression, and the NHS itself was born in the wake of the Second World War, during which Britain had exhausted what remained of its military, economic, social, and spiritual reserves in the fight against Hitler.
Now, the pandemic has given the governments of the free world another generational carte blanche to swell the state into even greedier and more imperilling proportions. There’s a reason that Her Majesty’s government can now afford, politically speaking, to experiment with policies that are native to stratified east Asian states. It’s the very same reason why the Democratic Party here in the States can attempt to spend multiple trillions of dollars during just six months of unified government without any obvious public dismay. Catastrophes are accelerants of government expansion, and the pandemic will go down in history as one in a series of quantum leaps into a more statist world – a world in which governments feel increasingly emboldened to attempt the previously unthinkable.

You’re doing a lot of cutting and pasting here Jelly, and you seem to have found a libertarian website that is feeding your flames.
Now you’ve explained how crises can give rise to such evil things as Income Tax, the ‘new deal’ and the NHS, I’m sure we’re all going to be listening to you so much more closely. That’s if we can throw off the fear that Boris Johnson is going to be personally counting our calories, of course.
You do though confirm all our prejudices about tin hat wearers, so thank you for that at least. You must be struggling to sleep at night at the moment with all the evil things going on to cement the global conspiracy at COP 26, you poor thing.

Sleeping very well Ian, but thanks for your concern, I find it very touching and it shows that unvaxxed lives do matter. The good thing about being a conspiracy theorist is your so far ahead of the curve that nothing catches you out, but obviously as you are part of the evil totalitarian cabal you also have that advantage 😉 Cop 26 clearly piggybacking on the covid crisis to keep the poor people in a perpetual state of fear and thus obedience, still, the gas guzzling hypocrite elites can rely on you to promote their message. You are such a good boy.

I like to think I’m part of the cabal, Jelly. I don’t get to see all the plans but enough of them to feel included.
And we’d get away with so much more if it wasn’t for pesky kids like you.

No Sogs, they are just wrong, but Galileo was over 200 years ahead of his time, on the sun being the centre of the universe, hoping I don't have to wait that long to be proved right!

I must be a bit dense because in all these increasingly wild conspiracy theories I can never quite work out who benefits and how.
History tells us that totalitarian Gov'ts arise in times of national crisis and initially at least because they offer people what they think they want, they are successful, at least on the surface. In due course however, because power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, they tend to collapse under the weight of too many egos.
If our Gov't is seeking to impose a controlling diktat on our daily lives because it fits the ideas of the PM or some other temporary chancer in number 10, who benefits and how?

The Elites are the ones who always benefit. This "pandemic" has seen the ordinary people controlled - denied access to loved ones, forced to wear a mask uniform, coerced in to taking a mystery vaccine that most of us don't need and now straight in to the next armageddon of you will destroy our planet unless you do as we say, so you can't travel as much as you did before.
There is a global technocracy, governments are mere stooges, Boris used to be a libertarian, he has clearly been got at.
I believe the Elites want a China style credit system rolled out, This really weird last 2 years has always been about control. More and more people are recognising this now, as even the most conformist of people are questioning multiple booster jabs, jabs to kids and discrimination against the unvaxxed. These things are not normal.

Apologies in advance, but perhaps you can explain to me.
Who are the "Elites" and how do they benefit?
If you mean the wealthy then adding a few million to an already enormous pile of money is not really a benefit. If you mean the political establishment, then the only benefit they have is to either create a non democratic system with a despot at the top or do things that keep voters happy. Boris has done neither.
"Denied access" - no. I prefer to think that my loved ones would have been at risk if I had gone to see them. Likewise my children did not visit for many months. It was a deliberate choice and no coercion was involved.
"forced to wear a mask" - I never felt I was and again it was a choice.
"mystery vaccine" - you mean the one that was developed by a world leading university and pharma company? The one that our regulator and several others approved?
"climate crisis" - has been building for perhaps 100 years and has attracted attention now because people who know what they're talking about tell us that it's act now or suffer permanent damage. The timing is coincidence, not conspiracy.
Boris has been got at? You think that somebidy with an ego that big has been persuaded by a "global technocracy" (whatever that is) could persuade somebody like him, like Biden, like Putin, like Merkel etc, to do what is good for the "technocracy"?
Things are not normal because a disease that bypasses the human body's survival mechanisms and kills million, is not normal. Neither are they unknown. Perhaps the last global pandemic was after the first war and if so, going 100 years without another is testament to the work of health systems and vaccine designers around the world. We have learnt how to contain and stamp down hard on more local epidemics such as we see in Africa and less developed nations and apply what we learnt there on a wider scale.
The question remains however.
If all of the above is a carefully planned conspiracy involving hundreds of thousands of people - who benefits and how?
Is the benefit "control"? Control of what? And why?

Most people can't/don't/won't understand because they are not psychopaths like these people , what was it that Hitler said In Mein Kampf, The great masses of the people . . . will more easily fall victims to a great lie than to a small one.
The Elites are worried about natural resources depletion, which is why they have seamlessly brought in the climate change Armageddon scenario, while the masses are fragile and malleable from Covid.
The Georgia Guide stones erected in 1980 spell out their thinking;
Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature. Guide reproduction wisely–improving fitness and diversity. Unite humanity with a living new language. Rule passion–faith–tradition–and all things with tempered reason. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court. Avoid petty laws and useless officials. Balance personal rights with social duties. Prize truth–beauty–love–seeking harmony with the infinite. Be not a cancer on the Earth–Leave room for nature–Leave room for nature.
I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it.

I had to look up Georgia Guide Stones. As far as I can see a set of 5 monumental stones erected in 1979/80 at the cost of an unknown individual. They do apparently have the words Mr Jellybaby indicates above (along with some other words).
All very mysterious but not very interesting or illuminating. I also suggest that if I was an "elite" with an agenda, would I place it on a rock in the middle of bum-f**k nowhere in the US?
So, who are the "Elite"? What is their benefit from Covid/climate change?
Is it conceivable that this Elite has arranged for the coincidence of these two serious issues to arise at the same time?
Is it not more likely that the denuding of natural resources and the poisoning of the environment started with the Industrial Revolution back in the 1700's? Is it not also likely that a pandemic 100 years after the last was arguably overdue?
If the belief is that the Elite are manipulating science, politics, economies, societies, faiths, in order to preserve natural resources for themselves and 500 million of their closest friends, how many individuals does that realistically require? A million spread over every country, religion, legislature, science facility, banks, economies on the planet? Perhaps ten million?
Is it realistic to think that in that rather large cabal every single one either does not know they are working for the benefit of just 1 in 16 of the present population of the planet and that their actions are aimed at removing close on 7.5 BILLION people?
Is it realistic to think that this is a plot that has been 500 years in the making when most Gov't or societies struggle to last even half of that?
I cannot bring myself to believe such a plot and therefore as a conspiracy theory as to why Covid is with us, it also fails.
If I am wrong, then I will have to bear the "told you so's".

How a rag bag list of utopian waffle on some standing stones in Georgia is proof of anything is completely beyond me.
And these crackpots are trying to persuade us that we are all deluded.
You've done a good job in getting Jellybaby to spout such a torrent of irrational paranoid garbage that nobody is now under any misconception that this was ever a debate between two rational people.

You are pretty late to the conspiracy party GG, I have happily laid my cards out many months ago. I embrace the role of madman prophet .
The history of the world is built on conspiracies, take Julius Caesar as an example. A lot of us lived through the Jimmy Saville travesty, where we all knew at some level that he was a weird creep and yet we all watched Jim I'll fix it and Top of the Pops anyway. An open secret that the majority just ignored.
There should always be a role for critical thinkers, non-conformists, conspiracy theorists, whatever the title is. Interestingly it only became a negative term in 1967 when the CIA termed it to discredit doubters of the official version of the JFK murder.......

I love the way you associate yourself with the critical thinkers of the past. As if there were a direct line from Martin Luther to Einstein to Jelly. But those people were rigorous and they shifted the dial only by the force of their intellects and the undeniable truth of what they were saying.
And for every critical thinker that actually triggered a paradigm shift, there are thousands of historical crackpots, convinced of their own publicity who achieved nothing but proving themselves to be fools.
Time will tell where the insights of Jelly will land in the intellectual history of the world, but statistically you’ve got a greater chance of turning out to be a crackpot than a genius prophet.

Now that very scenario you imagine isn't anything new at all...it has happened for decades with the seasonal flu.. but you just carry on with the over the top covid-19 project fear Sogs.
You are missing some key points on your comparison of Flu and Covid.
1. Covid spreads more easily than Flu. 2. Covid can cause more serious illnesses in some people. 3. If someone has Covid, it takes longer to show symptoms, meaning they are more contagious

Your incoherence is a source of both frustration and joyful mirth. What Julius Caesar conspiracy? What is it all about? Certainly nothing to do with Jimmy Saville which is where you immediately go next. One sentence explaining nothing is like adolescent schoolboy monologues. You might just as well say "It's the rain's fault," which based on your previous posts, could well be one of your well (screwed up) researched beliefs.
Ref Jimmy Saville. yes, the majority thought he was different, and maybe a bit dodge, but in no way did a significant minority, let alone a majority know he was a perverted criminal and share in the "open secret". Easy to put it in context with hindsight, but that doesn't quite fit with a prophetic profile.

My mistake. I thought your reply to GG was positioning yourself alongside 'critical thinkers' from the past. That we had to look beyond the crackpot message because of the 'critical thinking' (unlike us conformist dullards) prophetic nature of the messenger.
