HT REPORT This is an improved performance from Rangers following our poor efforts at Preston and Birmingham. Unfortunately undone by two set pieces. Wallace poor defending the near post from a corner plus a very good Barnsley free kick. If only Dykes could score a goal occasionally. His clear miss has proved costly so far but I do think he has the ability to improve after one season at Championship level. Just goes to show how poor the Scottish Premier League is apart from Rangers and Celtic - who are IMO Championship level. At least Dykes has added a good long throw which is very useful. We still have a chance to get something out of this game. Looking useful in attack with the ball spread wide to Kane. Willock and Adomah most likely to be the subs. Hope Charlie stays on - unless the science says something else.

Barnsley are bloody good at what they do, might not like it but we gotta deal with It, we draw level and a couple of minutes later they are back in front, no head dropping they score again. They are gonna be at us for the next 45 minutes too, we haven't lost yet, they are not bloody magicians but we've got our hands full tonight. Any chance, any chance we get to score just has to be put away, seems to me this lot wont give us a second chance.

There's clearly a real division of opinion here, I think that is the worst 45 minutes of football I've seen this season. They are unwatchable and we're letting them do it.

It's making me feel sea-sick.
This game does show that we all view the game differently, obviously with that we can attribute players with differing levels of input too. So far Barnsley have edged it overall but as Nov77 says we could have easily been in the lead. Defence is perhaps a little more insecure than it has been lately but that has to be down to the pace of the game, equally our speed of counterattack and willingness to get quick ball up front directly is a little surprising too

This is proper siege football. They remind me of sheff Utd under warnock - I used to call it squaddie football. Both teams have 57% passing accuracy, so we have been dragged into their game good and proper. Lowest I’ve seen from us this year. Usually circa 70%+ and during the run we were up in the 80’s. Might need to remove ball after 15 if we haven’t pulled one back and put willock in the middle. Ie get hold of it and bring the game to them. He’s also not the worst at tracking when he’s in that position
