Saw it last night, well worth the visit very cleverly done, a few jump out your seats moments.

Never knew getting old would happen so quick!

glamour ous have a look at this, the British version of Saving Private Ryan almost.

Directed by Sam Mendes also, based on stories of his grandfather who fought there.

Pretty gory scenes.

Running through all those artillery explosions within feet and not getting hit by shrapnel?

Better than Dunkirk? Which i didn't think lived up to the hype.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

Dunkirk was great. Anyway, if this film is supposedly filmed (or given the impression its filmed) in one continuous shot, how does it span 24 hours?

A lot of action rammed into those 24 hrs....no spoilers.

But it was a suicide mission for two young, unsuspecting lads.

I think I'll dig out some Tesco vouchers and go and see this.

looks like it stars Bromley Joe from "Pride" which is the finest film of recent years imho.

Without giving spoilers anyone know which particular date, battle, geography it is set in? seems to be a lot of open country from the trailer?

The date is 1917.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

6th April. Other than that no.

Much better on an IMax big screen.

6th April 1917 USA declared war on Germany.

Troops were getting ready for the Battle of Arras and Battle of Vimy Ridge starting 9th April 1917.

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

Good film, if you could ignore the Germans not being able to shoot straight, they must have had faulty rifles lol.

I agree with this, shot at and missed more times than Liam Neeson in Taken. Apart from that the filming/camera work was very good. Worth a watch.

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT
Very good film, saw it in Javea last week (with Spanish sub titles!).
I thought from the media publicity that the two lads were together throughout the film, so it was a bit of a shock when laddo got killed half way through.
This scene was problematic for me too. Didn't quite ring true. Not impossible, of course, but if you were a pilot who had crash landed in flames and two enemy soldiers risked their lives to drag you out of the burning plane, then were putting your flaming clothes out and generally trying to help you (and were both armed), would you pull a knife out and fatally stab one of them? As I said, not impossible, but unlikely.
