Oops. Placed. Laid might have been more financially prudent of course. I already had a bet with Lincoln, Leeds and Luton to win their leagues, so I just went for a bit of symmetry or serendipity or sheer silliness, as has been pointed out. I could have gone the whole hog and added Leipzig and Lyon but even I would have drawn the line at Leganes.
There are other alphabetically neat possibilities too, of course. Man City, Middlesborough, Mansfield, Madrid, anyone?
